What's the difference between this and the aldi 27cm version that I purchased last year for £70. I can't rate it highly enough, good quality in my eyes and only thing I felt was missing was a heat deflector so made my own. This doesnt look like it includes one anyay. Why is this 4x more expensive?

I also have the small Aldi Kamado and thought the Joe junior looks very similar in photos, when I saw it in real life I was surprised how much bigger and better quality the junior was that extra 7cm in size makes it a totally different beast. (edited)

Wait is this only 10cm bigger than the Aldi kamado? If that's the case then it's definitely overpriced for such a small cooking surface

Na it's considerably bigger in real application. I used to get one chicken maximum on the aldi one and it barely would close (large) on this you could easily get two no problem and more

Why would you get this over a 57cm Weber Premium at the same price or cheaper? Seems strange to me.

Kamado BBQs are next level, superior BBQ method to Webers which are premium standard BBQs. Just like Konro grills are top level and why they cost hundreds despite people thinking they look like portable camping BBQs

Kamados and konros have heat control good enough for professional high end restaurants whilst Webers are for home use

Unless you're fully committed to the BBQ smoker life, I'd honestly suggest looking at the Ninja Woodfire Grill.

The convenience and indeed it's ability to throw out a lot of smoke with almost no effort is astonishing.

A Kamado will literally last forever and requires no electric connection. They can live outside all year round without even a plastic cover. They will cook to much higher temperatures and afterwards will space heat your garden to gather around in colder nights. Those 'woodfire grills' are a glorified air fryer ripe for failure within years and have poor weather resistance rating. Just learn how to light a fire and stop buying gadgets to replace how people have managed to cook outdoors for thousands of years.

    Overpriced!

    Nope, it's not overpriced (edited)

People are saying this is worth it being noticeably bigger than the Aldi mini one, forgetting that for the same price, Aldi also do a full size Kamado to rival the big Kamado Joe.

It's a ceramic pot with a hinged lid, a handle and two air holes. There is really nothing but marketing and cosmetic styling between any of them.

Build quality and customer service etc are worlds apart though. That's where you are paying the extra money

50450768_1.jpgOverpriced can get a decent BBQ for a quid from most supermarkets (edited)

It's a good idea, but I couldn't fit the trolley in the washing up bowl.

Haha "Unfortunately we could not match this price at this current time."

What’s the cheapest next level ?
    pukenukem's avatar
Next level up? I think it's the Joe Classic 1, which sells for around £700-800 I think.

What number of people do you think you could serve with a 27cm cooking area. Cooking mostly lamb chops and chicken wings/thighs
    sc0rpion79's avatar
I believe cooking area is 34cm. I have heard its big enough for a family of 4. I am awaiting delivery from costco, should be coming next week. (edited)

Can’t decide on this or save for a 60cm Louisiana.
