I used to use Kaspersky for years, until 4 or 5 years ago it was causing all sorts of problems on my laptop, which went away when I uninstalled it.

Personally, these days, I wouldn't go near internet security from a Russian supplier or a Chinese supplier, regardless of price. Each to their own though.

I fully expect this ethos to extend to hardware provision in the future too. After all, hardware needs software too. (edited)

Not sure I'd be trusting a Russian company with my IT security right now.
Nor would I want to fund any Russian company.

Yes only Russian government spies on people.😬

Can this be stacked? I have some still from last time this came up

Yes apparently hotukdeals.com/com…701, but best to ask that member again to confirm for sure.

Even cheaper if you don't need 20 devices to be protected

    10 devices £12.99
    5 devices £10.99
Or select annual subscription for 5 devices @ £8.99 for the 1st year, cancel anytime.
(£1 cheaper than 5 devices for 3 and £2 cheaper for 1 on either one-off or annual)

Fair point, but... having 20 devices license, is sorting out my household, and all my closest family, all at once.

I say this everytime it comes up in sale.
    BUYER BEWARE.
It is a Russian company owned by a close friend of Putin (stated by himself publicly several times). Virus software has access to the core of your system, should they ever need to flip a switch and do something nefarious they could do so with impunity (regardless of where the data is stored).
Why buy a piece of software designed to protect your pc with such a glaring loophole?
    kapciuch's avatar
Years before the war Barclays was giving away free licenses and then they were sending letters to delete the software as they considered it as suspicious.

hmm, didn't think anyone used anything other than windows' built in AV these days. Could be worth it if the VPN is good though. And afaik, "anti-viruses" for android don't actually do anything that Google doesn't already do.

I would have to agree. Windows defender is pretty good theses days.

I used to use this for years and tbh jumped ship to BitDefender for the past few after various issues with Russia in the news, never fully been onboard with BD as it has issues but it did the job, I've spent the past 2 weeks using just Windows defender but for this price with unlimited VPN, I might crack the Vodka out again.

Kaspersky is continually achieving high rankings for av in the Windows community. I have been Linux for years but all major players have made endpoint editions for Cli fans for testing.

Lots of posts on this subject people mess between politics-product-licencing. Generally speaking thanks to "sureshot" for sharing great products at a great price by contributing to the hud. (edited)

The best product to prevent yourself from seeing deals that you would otherwise have purchased.
So a great saving money product,
but a poor money saving product.

The Netflix series about this chap in charge is well worth a watch.
    junk15's avatar
I think there is a discussion about the product which has got great reviews from around the world and has been at the top of the IT ladder for years for the reason but not about the Netflix movie which has been paid for to be made. Think...

I think I was using BitDefender but when I signed up with BT I decided to give Norton a try as they offered it for free and, at least for me, it's been pretty good ever since.

    1. I met Eugene once, affable chap
    2. Russia is at war with the ‘West’
    3. There is no independent private sector in Russia
    4. Buy this and get protection, but not total protection.

    Good luck!

    Thanks OP - Purchased

And how come it's so cheap for the full lot, are they taking a huge hit on sales, even on their website it's only £25, try and get that with unlimited VPN from Bitdefender, no chance.

I wonder if my kids can circumvent it this time on his bloody phone, a few years back the git realised he could nip in and disable it before the phone had loaded it (edited)

    worth it for the VPN

Can you stack the code, I have a sub until next year.

Absolutely unnecessary. Windows Defender is more than good enough for home use.
    Sho_Nuff's avatar
It's an interesting point. Maybe Windows has upped their game but I didn't have a good time with Windows back in the day. It always got viruses. I guess old habits die hard.

I used this a few years ago & stopped due to very high CPU usage. I switched to lightweight other options & much better now
    Kestrelv2's avatar
Absolute nonsense. If it was using high cpu usage then you either have a very very weak PC,it was actively doing something and you have a very very weak PC or there was a conflict.

Even when scanning kaspersky has one of the lowest impact on pc performance among the top anti viruses.
Thepcsecuritychannel on youtube can prove that.
