If you drag and drop a PDF onto the Home page of Word, it automatically converts it into Word doc whilst retaining most if not all the formatting. Not a lot of people know this. (edited)

If you download Google Docs which is free the app let's you to open and save pdf files to word format. docx. You need to select the share and export option.

downloaded but i don't think this will work if you don't have word?

i have word 2007 version so it doesn't convert PDF to word.

You are misunderstanding this slightly if you allow me to say so. MS Word for mobile phones (latest version with regular updates from Google Play Store) is free to download. Once you have both, you can convert pdf files to Word, save them and sync them as well.

Good standard software link from Adobe but only trial and thus limited as you have said .
Can't remember if I have used it in the past but does it leave a watermark on the converted document?

If one wanted to do just one off, then XoDo is very good allowing single usage per day and it's FREE.

You can just open Microsoft word, click File > Open and select a PDF and word will convert the PDF into a word file, for free, without any extension. It’s been able to do this since like 2013. Wouldn’t pay 1p for this (edited)

Why you would use this? Microsoft Word save as a PDF ...

I believe this is PDF to word so other way around. I have not looked into it but would assume it is a program to create an editible version of the PDF.

Try opening any PDF with Word. It will prompt you that it is going to convert to Word, and it is surprisingly good! (edited)

Says 'Pro' but once you're in the App it says "upgrade to Pro"

This isn't free, you still get adds even with the paid version. This just takes you in to subscription model, unless you enjoy watching adds

We found people at work doing Word to PDF conversions online through a dodgy Russian website as it was free!

Word will automatically convert to PDF by selecting save as function and changing the type from docx to pdf and voilà you have a pdf document.

    Just use libreoffice

Most of these aren’t very good, but Adobe making an online one free and it’s excellent.

Why on earth have people voted this hot?
You can simply drag and drop a pdf into word. Job done

Upload your document, sign off your ownership to them to use your document how they fit later, download your converted document.

Suggest you don't do this for anything sensitive or work related unless the company you work for (or yourself) has zero security and don't care about uploading docs to a cloud provider.

Yes because normally with other such software one has to pay for conversion or at best limited to one conversion per day.
