    Good for an external Xbox or PS5 drive if you get a cheap USB caddy for it. They're a lot better than mechanical drives for speed of moving newer games between the internal drive and this and they're faster at loading the older games.

    I normally buy the Kioxia one which is much the same price. This is slightly bigger (512 against 480), is it any better otherwise?

    Me too - I got another Kioxia last week. There were 2 cheaper options that were 480gb (PNY and Patriot), but the reviews put me off.
    I didn't see this one.

    Avoid if writing will be a priority in your use case.

    However, still useful in general use especially in older computers. Still better than a hard drive. Good post on Reddit here.

    And still a good price for what you get.
