From Jura watches site for the 41mm, but the calibre and other specifications are the same, I believe:

Longines Watch Conquest VHP GMT Sport L3.718.4.76.6.

A GMT watch for the sportsman, this remarkable Longines Conquest VHP has been designed especially for avid travellers in mind thanks to its striking red tipped GMT hand and brand new light-driven management system, known as Flash Setting. This incredible innovation is a must-have for vacationers as it allows you to make fast and direct time setting possible without the use of the crown, while providing rigorous precision in displayed time. The Swap function offers another remarkable benefit, allowing the user to change between home time and travel time on the display by simply by applying pressure to the crown, providing even greater reading comfort anywhere in the world.

The remarkable GMT functionality on this Longines Conquest VHP GMT watch is powered by a cutting edge movement: the L287 quartz calibre. This Swiss made movement has an incredibly high degree of accuracy with only +/- 5 seconds a year, a long battery life and a perpetual calendar that extends to the year 2399. The quartz movement also provides central hands for hour, minutes and seconds, a date window at 3 o clock and a handy End of Life indicator. Protecting the movement and assisting in the watch’s water resistance of 50 metres is a 41mm stainless steel case fitted with a sophisticated metal bracelet and a triple safety folding clasp and push-piece opening mechanism for easy wear and optimal comfort. Proving itself as a notable and masculine timepiece worn by sportsmen around the globe, this Longines Conquest VHP GMT watch continues to impress with a striking silver dial decorated in Swiss Superluminova hands and high quality scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass coated in anti-reflective treatment.

Longines VHP will be discontinued soon as not showing up on thier official sites anymore hence the heavy discount.

I never saw the advantage of VHP in watches where you need to adjust the time twice a year.

Nice watch but it's not an automatic - it's high precision quartz

It could be argued that all quartz watches are more precise than automatics.
For some reason, most people will not want to pay this much for quartz though.

It's a beauty. Crown guards used to put me off a bit, but I got over it.

I have a Tissot V8 Chrono which has had 10 years of more of less daily use and still looks\works great and I also have the Longines VHP conquest Chrono. The accuracy and shock\magnetic detection along with the power save mode of the VHP puts it into a different catagory compared to the Tissot (not getting dragged into the quartz\automatic conversation).

Having said that my G-shock is frequently my go to watch as it just takes abuse!!

Change the battery in that watch would cost £60+.

£1100 RRP for a quartz watch?Naaaahhh, even if it is Swiss.

I spent £600 at an airport duty free shop on a Tissot chronograph automatic watch. I loved it, looked amazing. Just after the 2 year guarantee period passed, it stopped working. I took it to 2 watch repairers and neither could do anything for me. I was gutted and bought a £60 Citizen Eco Drive a couple of years ago that hasn't missed a beat. That Tissot experience has made me never want to buy another automatic again. This Longines looks amazing, just a real shame that they can't make them solar powered or I would buy it in a heartbeat.

in my small, meek mind, i class the eco-drive as an automatic. its self-powered by light instead of movement.

minor change of subject! naive me wanted to buy a Rolex but you can only "register an interest" with individual approved retailers, and wait. I'm not that patient! anyone know if this is a ridiculous queue that can be swerved, please?

Unfortunately you've joined the Rolex club, nobody beats how much brand power Rolex holds & the image it sells. It's the Louis Vuitton of watches, everyone has one or a fake

Prepare to worship your authorized dealer on your knees for years & buying your way through the Rolex catalogue to build up purchase history as it's the only way to work your way up the more expensive models

    Or become a celebrity (edited)

I bought a Longines watch for my wife, but right from day one, it started falling behind. I took it to Goldsmiths since they claimed it had a 5-year warranty with their stamp on the warranty card. However, they asked for £100 just to handle my request. What a scam!
    sufy123's avatar
Did you pay £100 to get it checked?

    OOS now

Needing a battery change was only thing that stopped me buying it. How difficult can it be for watch companies to make all their quartz watches solar powered? (edited)
