sorted byIt "should" work.
According to multiple sources a cable reel should always be unwound completely when in use to avoid overheating. This has a lot to do with the wire gauge and load.
With this in mind and in my opinion with such consumer and not commercial grade cable reels i.e. using thin wires and also near it's max power rating I would definitely unwind it all the way to allow maximum exposure to air for the entire cable and therefore maximum cooling.

Heated OP. I have the 10m version of this and it's great
I then ordered again from another Wilko about 2 miles away from the first and proceeded to pick one up after the other.
Hate it when companies do this. Just means I don't spend money with them in future.
