I disagree I think these or any mccains are awful mushed up dry covered in rancid oil....

Albert Bartlett chips. aunt bessies or own brand Taste better!

Tried Albert Bartlett due to the implied endorsement ad campaign with Michel Roux Jr.
    Wasn't all that impressed.

Aunt Bessie's need to be cooked well otherwise that smell of undercooked oven chips prevails.
Tried pretty much all the supermarket brands, worse were Iceland's (cardboard texture and flavourless). (edited)

Good price, however I do find McCain overpriced chips vs supermarket branded.. too busy spend money on marketing... at the end of the day it's fried potatoes...

Used to feel the same way, however...
since getting an air fryer (where luck is removed from the cooking equation), McCain's, especially their French Fries, range of products are consistently better in flavour and texture than others.

You can get supermarket own brand, and they differ in quality amongst them, for half if not a third the price but they are not the same.

You have to take your hats off to McCain's potato scientists. They know what they are doing in the realm of quick cook hassle-free potatoes.

Obviously, home made chips are in a higher class of their own, especially if double or triple cooked. (edited)

These are excellent in the air fryer:

    190 degrees for 10 minutes
