I'm quite tempted tbh but keep reminding meself that this is simply an outdoor hob, not a bbq xD

costco need to bring back the masterbuilt 800!

there's are 199.99+vat in store... so cheaper here if that helps anyone decide (edited)

Can't see Costco doing it tbh with the problems with the Masterbuilt, undoubtedly it cooks food really well, but the amount of faults and breakdowns it has and Costco's no quibble return, would imagine they get quite a high percentage of them back.

Friend of the family bought one on my recommendation just over 12 months ago, got the manifold as well, but cleaning is still a pain. Been out of action for nearly 4 months why they tried to diagnose the fault, sent a new control unit, but turned out to be the power source connector, no stock and had to wait 2 months for one to be sent.

Along with the protective insulation burning away around the firebricks (they say it is to be expected now) think they were sending out so many new replacement fireboxes initially, that it was costing them a fortune. He has bought one of those stainless steel custom built things that attach to the bottom to try and stop this, but has been another 3 figure investment in it.

Think this could be a decent machine, still at launch price for August , but hopefully will come down quite a bit over the winter. Do it in a 24 and 36" size, but could be a gamechanger when it comes to pellet grills as gives you the ability to add charcoal and wood chunk smoke to your cooks as well as having all the benefits of the controls a pellet grill offers you and seems to be very positively reviewed in the States

I saw this instore. Stainless seemed good but the gas knobs let it down. They seem cheap and flimsy. Also coated plastic so the silver will wear off. The Kirkland one felt really solid instore! Shame they don’t have a 3 burner version of the 6 burner.

And for the bringing home more than you came for comment - I now own a dewalt wet and dry vac. 38L for £83.98 inc VAT! Bargain
