    This appears to be a poor design, the hose stored in a square shape will create kinks at every corner especially as the hose ages and becomes less flexible

    Pretty sure the hose is located on a spool like most reels .
    Can't see the exterior casing shape making any difference tbf .

    The good thing about this design I like is it's wall & floor mountable.

    This is identical to the Flopro one that I have. Smooth retract mechanism, spools onto a reel (not corners, that’s just the outer box!) and looks cool. Not sure why the pictures appear to be in black& white - the Flopro one is shades of blue. Love it but after a few years in the sun it’s faded a bit in the UV. This is a good deal! (edited)

    I was looking for a 30m hose that was floor mountable ( located in a greenhouse ).lots of others are only wall mounted .
    Arrived today seems good quality , the length of hose compared to others is a decent enough price .

    I have an existing hozelock 25m reel that doesn’t work particularly well. How good is the winding on this one? Is the case metal or plastic?

    I tried different brands, and simply came to one single brand that I can trust, yes this Gardena , I bought it earlier at Costco 25m for £100
