Are you really trying to compare Switch games to cheap mobile games? Wow.
Yes the Switch isn't cheap but that doesn't mean it's overpriced. There is more tech in 1 set of joycons than any other controller which is why they cost more.
You will be waiting a very long time to get that deal for under £100. Your kids will be able to afford it themselves by then
This does come with a piece of software too. Or are you telling me I can download the software and the pdfs for free?
My son got this for his birthday. He had some fun putting it together, but that was it. In my opinion it’s super overpriced cardboard.
I don’t know much about this so correct me if I’m wrong but surely you’re also paying for software to go with it as well?
That’s a fair point. But on the other hand, what use is a Lego set when your kid loses some of the pieces? What use is a musical instrument if your kid drops it and breaks it?
I’m not sure I agree that something is damageable detracts from its value.
I certainly did miss your point. Who would of thought someone would of compared the switch to paracetamol
My son was playing with it at his friend's house and loved it. I haven't seen it personally but if it keeps him quite for a few hours it's a winner
I agree. If Nintendo do are repositioning themselves as a mobile platform then their pricing should be aligned to the play store/app store.
My kids tried one in the local shopping centre and loved it...but at 250 for the console, 50 for a second joy con, 50 each for a couple of decent games and almost 100 for the robot labo set that's 500 quid up front for something I won't let them use more than an hour a day.
My current car cost 575 quid and it's lasted almost 3 years.
My kids were playing super Mario galaxy 2 and Lego star wars last night on an original Wii. They will have to make do with that til I can Get a switch bundled with 2 joy cons and a few decent games on gumtree for under £100.
You don’t actually need a second set of Joycons for multiplayer unless you’re intending on having more than 2 players at any one time.
What comes in the box as standard is all that’s needed for 2 players.
I think the downloaded pdfs allow you to rebuild them out of cardboard from Amazon packaging to replace the old one which got torn
How old is your son? I think the interest ranges depending on the age. My 3 year old loved the games, but wasn't interested in building them passed helping me rewind and ffwd the videos and put the rubbish in the bin.
I've probably had about 10 hours of fun so far with this with my boy, and still have the piano and the motorbike to build.
I have 3 boys aged 6, 8 & 14 - I’ve taken a punt and ordered, I’m sure one of them will get use out of it. Thanks for the info.

Reckon your younger's would love it. just be careful with the RC car that it gets you to build first. The legs got bent on mine so now it just goes in a circle. o_O
Also please show me where you can buy a tablet for £1 because I would love to get one.
But the metaphor was a rubbish one Lol.
As you said pharmaceutical product production costs millions, which are indeed quite expensive to buy when they first come to market.
However the likes of Paracetamol etc only cost what they do now is because they’ve been around for a lot longer than I’ve been alive and they have recouped the R&D costs many times over since then. (edited)
Thanks for the heads up, I just about managed to resist 02 but I don't think I'll be able to resist this one!
Which games are overpriced?
Maybe not glass but one drop of something like a clarinet or a saxophone onto a hard floor can do very significant damage. Damage to anything detracts from the value of that specific item as its now damaged. But musical instruments aren't priced based on the fact that they're easily damaged, and I don't think its fair to say the Nintendo Labo stuff should be either. Think how easy it is to smash your smartphone screen. They aren't priced cheaper because this is a likely scenario for most people.
I won't try and convince you this product is for you and your family as I think its a bit of a 'marmite' product and people will either think its brilliant or completely pointless. But I do disagree with your arguments against its pricing.
Please don't use tech specs from YouTube.
Gaming experience is ment to be valued not tech progress on console or joycon..
Well at least if you buy to play and not to take them apart and teach your kids to to learn tech.
Some tablets production costs millions, but you buy them for £1 and do not care of development.
If you are a USER learn the value of use and not fancy words in specs and advert.
Tablets / pills/ medications ...
Paracetamol etc.
U still missed a point.
And this will end this topic.
