Great game, story is generic fantasy, but the music and graphics are fantastic and I really liked the combat system.

Seems a lot for a pixel game - is it that good to be holding this kind of price?

There *is* an overarching story! It's well hidden though. Without spoiling anything, it's accessed by completing a few specific sidequests.
Followed by the most difficult last boss in a jrpg ever concieved.

Is this easy and just a breeze or some actual grinding needed to do stuff?

There is a non-Switch version??!! I wouldn't have bought the Switch version then if I knew this was coming. Nevertheless, awesome game even at the Switch price. Hot! (edited)

Fantastic game. I finished it (including the secret end boss) and loved every minute.

The last boss music is one of the best tracks in a game ever haha

There are some tricks to speed up the grind, some cats that give huge boost if you manage to kill them. If I remember, I was able to unlock all skills across all jobs pretty fast. I don't remember needing to grind to progress the story itself but I played it a while ago. I still think it is a bit overpriced for a 2D sprite based game. Price should be based on development cost, not length of gameplay.

... What? The development cost for a game like Octopath Traveler is substantial. Maybe not Red Dead Redemption or Uncharted huge but by your argument we should pay hundreds of pounds for a game like that. In reality the only reason these games get made is because they guarantee 10s of millions of sales to recoup those costs.

It's absolutely possible that Octopath cost somewhere in the realm of a typical AA game; it definitely cost millions. This assumption that sprite based games are cheap is completely wrong. (edited)
