That is a particularly silly statement. Anyone looking at high output … That is a particularly silly statement. Anyone looking at high output bulbs is clearly not happy with the performance of their headlights, and the lights on some cars are pretty terrible. The trade off for more output from an incandescent lamp is almost always shorter life, the two go pretty much hand in hand so it's not just the high output Osram lamps that have a shorter life than standard lamps.

YOU may not be happy with your factory fit bulb's light output, but the people being blinded by your stupid new bulbs definitely wont be!!! Learn how to drive according to conditions and then you wont NEED brighter lights!!!

What planet are you on? No one is being blinded by these headlight bulbs. … What planet are you on? No one is being blinded by these headlight bulbs. All bulbs will only 'blind' (figuratively speaking of course) if angled incorrectly.HID/Xenon bulbs wouldn't be legal if all bulbs brighter than basic ones blinded. Its the muppets self installing conversions of such bulbs (along with those forgetting to switch off their full beams) you want to throw your dummy at, not the users of these.

I'm on the planet that says that manufacturers know what bulbs to install. 99% of us manage just fine on stock bulbs, if you are unable to see the road ahead without needing brighter bulbs, you either need to visit Specsavers or just SLOW DOWN, its not rocket science!!!

As for HID's, there have been calls to get them banned, I personally don't mind them as they are a purer light so don't affect me. However, just because my opinion differs to yours it does not mean that I am angry, annoyed or throwing my dummy out, it's not my fault that your lack of education and intelligence affects your ability to be rational

If you have an old car with faded headlight plastic lenses, it's worthwhile machine polishing those. Just did mine with a foam pad on a random orbital sander, some meguiars plastx, and the increase in light output is great Plus they look shiny and brand new.

As alot of people have mentioned these bulbs don't seam to last long despite the premium price, but for me personally with alot of A-road driving the extra safety they provide is worth the possible pay off of bulb lifespan.

.... or like I said above, just drive according to the conditions?!?!? If you're driving an A-road that you are unfamiliar with, just slow down and use the bloody road signs (they are not placed there for decoration!!!) and you wont go far wrong. I just cant believe the mentality that is being employed here, its ridiculous

Has these last time and not impressed.

The light beam is good but ends very suddenly and for me that made them feel worse. They also didn't last very long at all.

I've now got Philips Cyrene vision and much happier with the beam. Can't comment on longevity yet

All of the above is for information only though - that's a stonking price and I might buy a sec to keep in car.

Had a few sets of these in the past. They don't last very long, maybe 6-12 months every time. Given up now.

The light is good whilst they last though.

That would be too logical for these muppets, why take time to correct a problem when you can just stuff a couple Nightsun bulbs on your Corsa

Hold on. You've come on here to have a moan based on your assumption that … Hold on. You've come on here to have a moan based on your assumption that everyone using these is doing so to enable them to drive faster, yet claim i'm being irrational? :DAnd as for trying to comment on my education and intelligence, perhaps you should first reflect upon your own. Anyone with just a little of both should be able to conclude that people may not wish to simply 'manage fine with stock bulbs'. it's about being able to see better when driving. it's SAFER.You can repeatedly tell people to "drive according to the conditions", but doing so does not prevent the unexpected, for which better vision is undoubtedly beneficial.

.. because better lights prevent the unexpected don't they *facepalm* No point in continuing, you get your brighter lights to subsidise your lack of driving proficiency and I'll stick to plain old simple driving experience and skills!!

It's a classic case of mistaken identity im afraid. It is a shame to hear you had to fake it, but I have faith that one day you will mature enough to find that special person to love, the one who can 'get you there'. There must be someone out there who can accept you for who you are.I shall inform Boris on his return that, unable to objectively discredit the use of these bulbs, you instead wish to end the debacle. Keep up the proficient driving, Mr Frakison.- Marythespider x

My apologies, do you have a sister??? Please feel free to tell Boris that he will find valid reasoning throughout this thread, perhaps he may be better to ask his dad for assistance?!?!? I await Mr Boristhespiders response.

Just off to do some proficient driving, tell your sister that the door will be on the latch

Got these in my car, I like them, nice and bright.

They DO NOT last as long as normal bulbs but they are brighter. It says that on the packing, the lifetime is short.

HOPELESS dont waste your money with these, the hype is the most impressive thing about them, not noticeably whiter than standard bulbs, range is nothing special and as for longevity, well i am expecting them to fail on that as well, wish i hadnt bought them!

You can't beat OE bulbs - hadn't changed one on my 1 series at 6yrs old, on my Toyo 4runner I think it made the 8yr mark before I had to change the first bulb - headlight - thats with some green laning bumping about to boot - the replacement £7 special from the Auto factors lasted less than 24 months.

I've picked up a set as for the price you can't knock it - I wouldn't dream of spending anything like RRP on them however.

I had Philips Extreme Vision and currently have these Osram Night breaker unlimited. They are a bit brighter than Philips but not by much. Both are about the same in regards of being 'white' colour. The reason I switched is 1 Philips lamp died after about a year and a half as well as these were a lot cheaper. I did not want to have different colour headlights so switched both for Osrams. Hope they will last longer but I am not holding my breath, most brighter lamps serve shorter period.
