May not be Nationwide the report says! so not voting either way

Original Poster

Read the post again the original store tweeted and said this applies to all HMVs with stock.

Yep better not risk it - its a big decision!

Bargain but I bet they'll be OOS before I get to HMV.

Unnecessary device but still hot

Exactly one year ago, this was over £200 ... and I bought it.

Decent for £100 and tempted to nip to my local and see if they have any

I wish there was on near me at this price. Been looking for one at a good price for ages

Nice price, My Local HMV had quite a few of these marked up at £149 so I'm sure they'll now scan through at £99.99

bargain

any in London?

current £99 in game for a pre-owned version so this is good

I expect they are selling off old stock ready for the new model which 'hopefully' will also be release in the UK sometime in the future:

Looks like a great deal, I'm going to look for one, but my main concern with these is whether it's worth buying these old models at all rather than waiting for one of the new models which, among other improvements, is significantly slimmer and lighter, has removable batteries, microUSB charging (as opposed to a one-off cable) and much longer battery life...
(I'm not just being negative, it's a sincere comparison)
Edit: In a similar line of thought I still wonder if one should buy the Vita TV if they're not concerned about the portable uses. The biggest downside to that seems to be the loss of touch screen(s).

I got a used wifi one from Game for the same price without a memory card, so if you can get a 3G one with a memory card for the same price it's a steal.

As for RawHero calling it an unnecessary device... You could say that about any entertainment product

If you are planning to get a PS4 this will be a great companion device, at a great price.

Just bought one WiFi only with Fifa 13 voucher (expired in September though) and 4 GB memory card in Westfield, it was the last one and marked £139 but scanned £99. Used a Westfield gift card so it came to £80 only. Happy :-) Thank you OP

Update: Voucher still works :-)

Isn't the difference to the 3G model rather pointless? Assuming I'm not interested in paying a subscription for a barebones service. I've never seen a vita so I did a quick search and an IGN article actively discourages the 3G version- although it is a very old article, nonetheless 3G is more outdated than ever.

Great deal, just hope I can get one

Well it's a nice feature to have for "free" (plus new, plus 4gb card). Normally the 3G ones cost £20 - £30 more. If you saw them side by side in the store at the same price you wouldn't pick up the one without 3G.

I love my Vita, I have 11 games now and 5 PSP games on it, awesome at this price!

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. I'm guessing it doesn't add weight or battery life drain (when not in use obviously) then?

I have the wifi one but I would have had a 3G one if they have been priced the same at the time. My friend has the 3G and from having them side by side I couldn't tell any difference.

Vita has Skype and a web browser so I would just throw in a giffgaff sim just for the heck of it even if I didn't plan on playing games over it.

To anyone picking this up or new Vita owners in general: Game website has Virtua Tennis 4 for £4.99 brand new. It's a little short lived but very pretty graphically to show off that Vita screen and is great fun in short bursts (ideal portable game IMO). A steal for a fiver. game.co.uk/en/…916

I was just in HMV Oxford Circus (the big one), about an hour ago, checking out the Vita. It was not advertising this cheap price, but as has been mentioned may well be true when scanned.

A little bit miffed as I have just ordered a refurbished one a couple of days ago from Tesco EBay (3g one £110), but then again it still gives me 14,days to send it back for a refund if I don't like it (bit of a mystery to me the vita)

If it helps folk nowhere near a HMV here's the Tesco EBay Refurb one...

PS, if I don't collect my tesco eBay delivery (probably have a delivery note when I get home, it was due today) can I send it back that way without paying for p+p ? I never use eBay much, at all really.

Might still go to hmv and see if any left, just watching Dame Edna Beverage in The Palladium...
Tip if anyone's going don't sit in the first few rows.....

simoneroebuck

went to hmv earlier and couldn't see any vitas at all

You should have asked someone to check if they have any

Got one at the Glasgow fort - none on display had to ask at the counter but got the second to last one. Well chuffed

Enjoy! Vastly underrated console IMO. Hope the PS4 features really push it forward

I am afraid the guy said it was the last one. All they had left were returns and display ones but try tomorrow maybe they will find more. The voucher I was talking about was the Fifa 13 download voucher that came with the Vita.

Its really hard to say I reckon. You could be right, but I think the Ps4 remote play will spark a lot of interest, also just needs a couple more Big titles. For example Football Manager classic is coming very soon, which is probably appeals to a different market (like me)...
don't play many games, but i like FM, Pro Evo...(,bit confusing the Pro evo thing, it seems the PSP 2013 version works on vita, and can only get it from the online store ?...is it any good ?
I will play some other top titles, like Uncharted / Call of Duty, and I see it has such titles too... Interesting times for vita.

^^^^
vita will be able to be used in conjunction with ps4 for remote play.
so it is far from "dead"

check this hotukdeals.com/dea…560

i think its oos now but worth keeping and eye for a restock.. (EDIT ITS IN STOCK)
was voted cold due to trolls, but came with a extra copy of fifa in the vita box that i wasn't expecting..

just signed up for my trial of ps plus.. gravity is a quality game... really impressed with ps plus

People are not gonna be buying a PS4 and then a Vita also just for remote play. Seriously, the console is not selling and PS4 remote play is not gonna change that.

Vita is a lovely piece of hardware no doubt. Truth is that nobody is buying it.

Loads in Newcastle store. Comes with fifa 13 or ac liberation.

Leeds has some. Beware the game codes may well be expired. Cod isn't but FIFA is.

I just picked one up from the Watford store

These are wicked - especially if you have PSN already! Great console with around 10-15 fantastic games so far. Doesn't seem like a lot but depends how much time you have! Plus play old PS2/PSOne game from PSN too. Awesome! HOt!
