sorted byShelling out £40 on something we don't really know about, this game could be a pile of poop for all we know.
Save your coin for now, wait for reviews to come out and if they're good then go for it.
Weird how personally attacked people get by deals on this website.
But we aren’t paying anything. It costs nothing to put an order in.
As for reviews, have you seen the state of the games media? Surprised about no uproar yet about not having a poc (Pokemon of colour) on the cover. (edited)
the big one will be released late 2019
I guess if you're a big fan of the series/franchise, you don't care. You'll buy it anyway, and Pokemon games rarely decrease in value much in the mo ths following release. £40 for a new Pokemon Switch release seems relarively cheap, but who knows.
What is this a remake of Batman? By your logic all Pokémon games are remakes...
That was a mistranslation. The original leak from April (which was 100% correct) mentioned that there is an online hub where you meet other players.
Normally would agree...
A Nintendo game however, plus with it being Pokemon and you are easily selling it for what you paid.
it's not actually a remake or a Pokemon game technically.
yes, it's pokemon yellow on the switch but they stripped out random battles, fighting wild Pokémon, traditional levelling up, took out all the competitive features and breeding.
but , they added pokemon following you, you can ride certain Pokémon that are large enough , co-op, and you can see wild Pokémon like you doing Pokémon go.
Basically, this is a Pokémon that will lure newcomers and people who play Pokémon go. It's a very boiled down Pokémon game. But, it's still going to have the same battle mechanics and apparently gym battles.
Another reason you can tell this is for the Pokémon go players is that they have added CP to the game which is found in Pokémon go. So it looks like you can level up your Pokémon in battles, and you can level up similar to Pokemon go but we don't know how yet.
Oh, and you can transfer Pokémon from Pokémon go to the switch game, but you cannot transfer them back.
Basically the core game is coming out in 2019 and this will do is over until then. Apparently, the core game has been in development for 3 years already. And will be exactly like traditional games and has confirmed to have no Pokémon go integration.
I really like this idea because it means we can have something to tie us over until the actual game comes out in 2019
All switch games count as ports or remakes... its the internet law... even when not true... and always remember its "only for children"...
The internet is very clear on its attitudes towards the switch...
It's not a remake though...
I agree. Nintendo first-party games almost always hold their value very well, this is likely the sort of price it will be for a few months.
Huh? This is pokemon yellow but without a battle system...its like a scaled down remaster.
there wasn't a Direct for this.
yes there is, it was confirmed that it was a translation error and that online multiplayer will be there. But they won't be going in detail until later in the year
that's not completely true. Although I am really annoyed about the Pokémon go integration, they do say that you level up Pokemon the traditional way excluding random battles. You don't need Pokémon go. But it is annoying that they say it will have some similar leveling system, that they are still tinkering with. That really doesn't make me feel confident though.
I definitely would not recommend pre-order to people who are not huge Pokémon fans. But who knows, this might actually introduce more people into the game. And if you don't want it wait till next year.
Its a remake by the looks of it, isn’t it? but with Pokemon go stuff built in
Only now random battles are Go style, but the trainer battles still look like they’re standard battles
will also allow you to transfer in Pokemon caught in Go
They don't take the money until near release so you can always cancel, the prices for first party Nintendo games tend to go up close to release too so it's worthwhile securing the price if you feel you're most likely going to buy.
Some games people will be buying day 1 regardless of what reviews say, some people enjoy 'terrible' games, some people just enjoy everything they're mildly interested in. For those people, why not preorder?
The latter (although I'll reserve judgement on the 'cash grab' part until reviews come out!). If you're after a new pokemon game for switch that's something closer to the standard format, that will be coming next year!
Well they pretty much are the same games each time
It's meant to be a remake of Yellow with extra bits etc added in.
I beleive it's based on Yellow from what I've read.
Its suposedly a remake-sequel-reboot thing. Just a stop gap from now and the actual gen 8 games in 2019. Smart move.
It's not a remake. It's a completely new story, and that's relatively cheap for the Switch.
