I've got a load of Amazon boxes I was going to recycle but I'm willing to let them go for £40.

Any takers? ;D
I guess Nintendo had to make use of all those unsold Wii U boxes? 😜

Thats nothing - with the prices of houses now - I've got enough from Amazon boxes to build a castle - once sent me a box of batteries bigger than the van that delivered it!

The prices of cartridges is sadly way too high and this gimmick will sell like hotcakes as its such a new and novel idea but longevity of game play, I'm certain will be extremely limited once the dust settles. Sales will hit the roof and be sold out - crime will sky rocket as people will be robbed for any bit of card and paper they will own.

Amazon will start charging for the boxes once they realise Nintendo-lites are hooked - this craze will sweep the globe and become the new craze to replace cryptocurrency - CARDBOARDING.

Trump will push forward on building his Mexico wall with Nintendo's cardboard and become the 9th wonder of the world -the wall of card.

Damn you Nintendo, damn you.

Come closer, closer I say!
Damn, am trying to hold out until reviews to see how gimmicky/in-depth the games are, but these prices are tempting...

This will get hot!

I'm trying to resist, but this does look fun.
This is a better price, considering at times games can release at £50, imagine if they ship it in the box your meant to use to build and its full of postage stickers 🤯 ooooops
could be one in future when switch is low price

Can u buy the kits separately as well?
Don't really get the gimmick of this. It's almost like Nintendo knows people will buy anything if it has the Nintendo brand to it.
The NHS is stretched enough as it is without an influx of paper cuts!

Only in the sense that you can buy kit 1 & kit 2. The individual projects within kit 1 are not sold separately.

I think the WiiU proved that to not be the case...

Well rather than teaching kids how to hold a controller and sit on their asses staring at a big screen, this is teaching them how to build and create something from scratch and once they have it then becomes interactive. It's kind of like an interactive Lego but made out of cardboard. I think the idea is to inspire creativity and get the kids involved.

Well, kit 1 @ £53.85 actually has

28 x Cardboard Sheet (includes an extra sheet for customisation)
3 x Relflective Sheet
3 x Sponge Sheet
1 x String (orange) 1 x String (blue)
1 x Eyelet Set (grey)
1 x Eyelet Set (blue)
2 x Rubber band ** (large) + Spares
6 x Rubber band ** (small) + Spares

and the software.

Don't forget that the real cost of something isn't just what you can see. I can imagine a shed load of work went into designing, researching and creating these.
I don't get it lol I should but I just don't

I agree, kids will be more active and creative with this, scope for their imagination too, but being made from cardboard will severely limits its life span and playability. Certainly a step in the right direction for proactive play though.
Cue Nintendo releasing all their games again and just sticking Labo on the title 😁
Ok, this actually looks crazy fun. I’m just wary about the face I doubt you can flat pack it away after built, and so you need somewhere to store all of these little boxes
Currey20, I guess what you'd need is a box...
This is one invention I don’t understand. Will end up in the bin within the week as soon as one of the kids sit on it, or start fighting for a turn. As an adult the piano looks cool enough
Il sell you've empty crisps box 10p each
This is probably the best comment here. It's not always about the hardware guys. The research and man hours that go into this to make it work is insane. Also. Quick reminder. As with anything you don't have to buy it you know.
If it was called "iLabo", the comments would be so different.

Exactly, this is what most people miss and I was probably one of the first to think £60 for cardboard?

The average new Switch game is £45/50, so all the R&D/manufacturing and distribution for the card comes in at £3.85 extra. Decent .

Totally agree. Really annoys me some of the comments earlier just saying it is some cardboard while completely ignoring the software etc that goes with it.

I would love to know what some of these people do for a living that sit in here ******** off great design.

Thanks for sharing deal and look forward to playing with this with my 8 year old boy.

Agreed. Or it could lead to them sitting on their asses reading forums about cardboard boxes in their adult life. Imagine.

Not that brave really, there can't be much production cost / investment risk here and the profit margins will be huge. It is what it is after all - cardboard.

But you also have to consider the impact this has on general software titles. There is less time/attention given to new ideas and development of new software titles, while Nintendo are fannying about with cardboard. Best exampled with the lazy repeat deluxe crap, i.e. MK8 Deluxe (v.3) and DK Tropical Freeze Deluxe (v.2).
