From Belkin as I didn't know what PPS is :-

What is Programmable Power Supply (PPS) Fast Charging?
    What is PPS Fast Charging?

Programmable Power Supply (PPS) is a standard that refers to the advanced charging technology for USB-C® devices. It can modify in real time the voltage and current by feeding maximum power based on a device's charging status.

The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), a nonprofit group that supports the marketing and promotion of the Universal Serial Bus (USB), added PPS Fast Charging to the USB PD 3.0 standard in 2017. This allows data to be exchanged every 10 seconds, making a dynamic adjustment to the output voltage and current based on the condition of the receiving device's specifications.

Differences between PPS, PD and QC

PPS' main advantage over other standards is its capability to lower conversion loss during charging. This means that less heat is generated, which lengthens the device battery's lifespan.

Some of the devices that support PPS include the following:
    • Samsung Galaxy® 20
    • Samsung Galaxy Note® 10
    • Samsung S20® Ultra
    • Samsung S21®
    • Other laptops that support PPS

    USB-C Power Delivery

USB-C Power Delivery (PD) is a fast charging technology, supported by certain iOS/Apple® and Android™/Google™/Samsung® devices, that delivers much higher levels of power than standard charging. With up to 100W of power available, USB-C PD can even charge larger devices, like tablets and laptops. All you need is the right wall charger and USB-C cable – and leave those heavy laptop power cables at home.

PPS and PD protocols work together where the former can renegotiate non-standard currents and voltages between the device and the charger.

    Qualcomm® Quick Charge

This technology powers your devices faster than conventional charging, allowing you to spend less time connected to outlets. As one of the most widely used of the fast charging technologies, Quick Charge is already in many of your favorite smartphones. If your smartphone is Quick Charge 3.0-compatible, you can charge up to 80% in just 35 minutes.

Quick Charge 4+ is expected to work with USB Power Delivery, enabling Quick Charge accessories to fast charge a wider array of devices. On the other hand, Quick Charge 5 is the latest in Quick Charge standards and can recharge smartphones up to 50% in just 5 minutes. (edited)

Just ignore both of them and go with a reliable brand. Somebody replied already, if you want a good answer for your question, you have to tell us what Samsung model you have. Don't waste money on powerful chargers if your phone does not support super fast charge or super fast charge 2.0. And don't assume that powerful chargers will deliver super fast charge, as lots of them will not do it, due to lack of PPS.

Better off spending £35 on mymemory for the 90W PPS charger.

Depends if you need that wattage for other devices. Or need a brick to charge multiple devices.

At the end of the day, this is aimed at the new S23 Ultra users for Super Fast Charging 2.0 which needs 45w and 5A cable.

Why pay £6 more and also have to buy a 5A cable on top of that (£8-£12) if you don't already have one laying about? (edited)

This is perfect for the steam deck as it fits better in the default case. Worth getting as a replacement.

£29 for a charger is bonkers

This is not your typical £5 5-15w charger. Some people have up to date devices and need this kind of chargers.

I've now received the item and can confirm genuine, has a good weight to the charging brick and comes up as "super fast charging 2.0" on my phone screen. Furthermore, my s23 ultra charges quicker with the 45w vs the 25w - not sure if something has changed between the s22 and s23 ultras. I'll update this post later after comparing the charging speeds. Someone on the other hotuk thread said there was literally no difference or about 1-2 minutes from 25 vs 45watt not sure what fone he had though, found that a bit odd.

Phone companies: To help save the planet we'll only ship the lead and not the charger
Consumers: That's great! I've got loads of USB-A chargers at home

    Ships with USB-C lead

USB A Cables maxes out at 18w, the supplied USB c at least provides 25w charging potential.

I got this direct from Samsung the other day and it was the new version only manufactured on the 17th of Feb.

Got from 13% to 85% on my S23 Ultra in 37 minutes. So as fast as possible on Samsung phones. (edited)

I get that with the Anker 313 charger using the cable supplied with the phone. (Super fast charging but not 2.0)...

These are good for the Steam Deck. They fit way better than the provided charger in the little recess in the case.

Tempted to purchase this but at same time how come we don't have QC 4 or QC 5 chargers out for sale?

I see one QC5 charger on ebay here priced at £6.02..... which should blow up before inserted into the wall socket
    Deal_HUNT3R's avatar
Which phones use QC 4 or 5?

Can anyone confirm, if the OP's Samsung 45w Super Fast 2.0 Charger with USB C cable, can be used to charge a laptop that charges via USB Type C already?

    Thanx.

Not normal. Try a different outlet and see if the same occurs otherwise return it. (edited)
