So you mean the drive was purchased 23.09.2022 or that that's when the firmware is from? If it's the purchase date, we really don't know as some drive may have been in inventory for years.

If that's the firmware date however, from your link, it says the affected firmware version is 3B2QGXA7, and that 4B2QGXA7 was considered safe, as well as the latest one 5B2QGXA7.

There's a Reddit post on the PS5 forum that specifically mentions 4B2QGXA7 being dated 26th of Nov 2021

    new 980 pro firmware 4B2QGXA7 11/26/21, might increase speeds to expectations : PS5 (reddit.com)

Now if we assume that the version numbers go up with every release, this would indicate the 3B2QGXA7 came before 4B2QGXA7, so yours being dated late last year is likely an even newer version.

This is just some internet sleuthing and logic, I'm fairly certain you should be past the affected versions, but if you wanted to be sure, you'd need to put the drive in a PC and run the Samsung Magician software.

took the plunge with Box UK for £168.99 as they are listed approved for the cashback. So thats gonna be £128.99 less tracked TCB £1.48 = £127.51

My cashbook came through, and I also used the Amazon £5 click-and-collect offer (which shows as a promotion on the invoice). Guess they have no problem with it. Took total to under £120 so can't complain.

Took 2 weeks from application to receipt. (edited)

So basically you want £40 more after you already took £80 for free?

Does anyone have any experience using Samsung cashback like this? I'm always wary of a third party "we'll get it to you later" kind of system.

This is so tempting. I've always liked Samsung SSDs, I have 830 pro, a couple of 840s, a couple of 850s in my current rig, as well as a Samsung 960 nvme drive.

Mainly back in the day they were one of the only SSD makers who made their own memory and the controller, and it wasn't the sandforce that was causing so much trouble at the time.

2 months ago I would have jumped on this without another thought, but the recent issues with the 990s and the 980s having that issue where they could get locked into read only mode. I know that's now been resolved with a firmware update, but it's sort of tarnished the image I had of them.

I have used them many times and always received the money which is via a bank transfer.
If there's a problem they email you and give you a chance to resolve it, which I had to do once.
They tend to process the claim quickly and take about another 3 or 4 weeks to make the payment.

This or 2 TB WD Black 850x for £150?

SN850X has faster read and write speeds. I ended up buying 4 SN850X SSDs on offer the other week

can anyone offer advice on which version should I get for a PS5? Pro or Pro Heatsink?

NM - I've just worked out that I need the heatsink one, and spotted that the T&C from Samsung don't include the Heatsink version...

Heatsink models are not eligible for this promotion.

Go for Pro and get heatsink from amazon (£10-20). Also the heatsink version does not include cashback.

Possible £40 cash back and ebay 12% CS. Making it £116.64.

I did this with CCL Ebay, 990 Pro 1TB, £30 cash back plus 15% CS. Come to £87. Just sent Samsung the CCL Invoice and cashback was approved.

What does CS stand for? can't seem to figure it out haha

Anyone notice the amazon page says must be installed with a heaksink, wonder if it's not an official one, would that void any rma's ?

Can't seem to find samsung heat sinks for sale . . .
  12. satsumaaa's avatar
box.co.uk has it for £168.99 and you can also get the cashback from there
  13. Gort1951's avatar
No. They are sold without a HS because Motherboards include the Heatsinks (looks as well)

    ebay - m2 heatsink

A lot of people tried to say it was a scam and they’ve tried to claim Cashback via this company before and failed.
Just got my payment notification through.
