S21 Ultra seems like an extremely good bargain here if the fair condition isn't too bad. Camera system was much better than the S20 Ultra. I know it's Exynos but it can't be that bad when it has few competitors and the price is a fraction of its retail, I can imagine being annoyed if you paid £1k for middling performance though. I got one the other day for £300 in "good" condition, seems absolutely perfect, accubattery says it's 93%, seems good. Great (but large) phone.

I can't get anywhere near £190 for an S21 FE on eBay or other 'refurbished' sellers. This was a total bargain.

I wonder whether this was a glitch price @MrSwitch ? (edited)

Not sure it was, as after a few hours of posting this, they released an email showing the £189 price, I'm guessing they had low stock and was a clearance

iPhone 12 at £200 mark or is it worth to go for iPhone 13 for £400 mark?

iPhone 12 for £200 is great value, 13 for double that is not worth it - though you get more storage, battery and better camera, not a lot else.

Unfortunately after much consideration, I don't think I'll bother getting one as there doesn't appear to be much in the way of custom ROMs for this phone

Do people still install custom ROMs in 2023?!?

It will be interesting to see just how low Samsung exynos phones get second hand this year. Especially as most of them used to go back to Samsung as trade ins but their offers on the S23 line are very poor.

Used market prices are going up ( except the Pixels ) so I expect them to do the same.

Absolute heat. I recently picked up a used S21 5G 256GB with +90% battery health for £194 on eBay.

Highest heat is S21 FE for £190 here (albeit all gone now).

The 21 series gets security updates until Jan 2026 and the S21 FE until Jan 2027!!

Buy used or 'refurbished' and help the planet ♻️🌍.

I like the idea of 12 pro max but not sure of it would be too large considering I normally use an 11 (edited)

Get the 12 Pro (non-Max) imo. Pro Max is enormous and heavy. Great if you don't have it in your pockets but quite unwieldy otherwise.

Definate high point for Samsung, the newer phones may be more powerful but without the gorilla glass back they aren't as robust.

FE is good at £200 and will get software updates up to Android 16

I'm tempted, got an S20+ which is good, but now will stop receiving updates, I will miss the MicroSD card though, I keep all my media on there for when I travel.

Have you considered one of these? Very cheap now, you can carry these and plug in as needed.

I think I'm going to bite the s21 after reading the comments here. The phones above have all been considered but does anyone have or know any info I should consider regarding my choice.

I'd imagine the s21 would stop receiving updates ina year so would probably end up selling for £100 and putting it towards another phone.

Currently using redmi note 9 pro and has been great for the last two years

@MrSwitch your input here would be greatly appreciated (edited)
