Did this deal in May when it also had £100 off coupon , paid £287. You can cancel the £9 Sim only contract as soon as you receive the Sim so don't need to pay anything over the upfront cost. hotukdeals.com/dea…913

Prepare to be underwhelmed. Awful phone.

Shocking battery life. Fast charge is terrible.
Honestly should of stuck with my 4 year old Chinese flagship. (edited)

Not to mention the non existent finger print reader.

I have a Pixel Pro 7 bought unlocked from Amazon on a great deal from here a few months ago. I used it on my 02 Contract as a Holiday phone and it worked perfectly for what I needed. It's a great phone I have to say, until I changed contracts.

Moved over from o2 (£15 per month for 30gb of Data), but I'd also usd a Lebara (Vodafone Sim) without issue, to ID (£12 Per month for Unlimited Data). The problem was, no matter what I did the Pixel Pro wouldn't acknowledge ID's (3) network. It accepted the Sim card, but the 3 network wouldn't show up no matter what I tried. I googled it and there's various posts about it, even some that suggest the Modem on certain models were faulty. I reset the Network, put in the 3 Networks APN Manually all to no avail.

I eventually contacted Google through their helpline for the Pixel (Wow what a great service, they ring you back within seconds and were really supportive about the issue), they gave me two options, reset the phone and lose everything or send it off for repair under warranty. I've had a lot of experience with phones over the years and didn't believe for a second that a full reset would fix the problem (I'd already reset all the network options etc), so opted for a repair. The nearest repair place was 20 miles from me and you have to drop it off yourself (That bits not great google). It turns out as part of the repair process you have to wipe the phone anyway..... Which I did unwillingly. Turns out the Google support were right and all of a sudden my phone recognised the 3 network. So if any of you have this problem, here is the unfortunate answer, spend ages backing everything up and wipe it.

Still love it as a phone, the Camera is brilliant especially the Macro lens, but we shouldn't have to be wiping phones just to get a network provider to work.

Also worth mentioning (and please don't Judge me for this, I like it because it's free) - The Daily Mail app, will crash like you've never seen. It freezes, closes itself, and is unstable as hell. It's down to the adverts it uses, I paid £2.69 for an app called Ad Blocker Pro and it's now stable enough to use. Just saying. Never had an issue with that app on any other phone, but the Pixel Pro 7 really doesn't like it (edited)

Why wasn't it backup with Google Photos / Google Drive?

Can cancel the contract online or would I need to phone them
    lucypotato's avatar
I think phone, but as a warning last time I did this they didn't actually cancel and I got billed twice after and spent over 2 hours on the phone being passed around. It was such a bad experience I wouldn't do it again.

My pixel 6 just died.... In the rain! I've had it for about 18 months and I hate it in general tbh. These are an attractive price, but it's for a reason. Back to samsung for me I guess.

What are the reasons you aren't impressed please?

    Am I missing something?

Excellent phone. But with pixel 8 coming in a few months time probably worth it to wait a bit more and it could possibly be cheaper still

Battery isn't the best, but yet to find a phone with smoother performance, compatibility, and camera out of the box.

I still have my Pixel 5 but it's really showing its age. Every time I use my partner's pixel 7 it's crazy how despite both having 90hz 1080p screens, that the 7 is significantly smoother in every way.

I shouldn't be shocked, because the SD765 was always a cheap turd, but because I'm used to slowness it's like going from a HDD to an SSD for the first time all over again.

Most people won't be disappointed. Those who are used to cheap malware infested brands from AliExpress will likely be disappointed in the value.

Barring the Emui launcher on my P30 pro (which was changed to a better smoother launcher). The P30 pro despite being 4 years old, it's a far superior phone to the Pixel 7.

I'm in doubt whether to go for this or the Xiaomi 12 (I actually already bought the Xiaomi 12 for £374.50 but could always refuse the delivery in case I change my mind).

The Pixel 7 is a much newer phone, but quite a bit more expensive as I'd want 256 GB version. I also don't like the slow charge speed of the Pixel 7. It's likely to have a better screen and capture better images though. And I do like the eSim support. Hmm, decisions decisions!

    Thoughts, anyone?

Thanks OP ... might be tempted.

Mrs is rocking an old Poco F1 and anything will be an upgrade ... but this one seems like a decent mid-ranger all round.

    Wonder if TCB applies? (edited)

For anyone interested, called up O2 as my 12 month SIM-only is ending. Don't plan on staying as the reception is rubbish where I am but they did offer £100 off on this. Maximum upfront is £250 and remaining £37 as a plan which you can call up to pay off. Shall get a PAC code for the SIM once I've done that and off to better pastures
  17. p3108's avatar
Are there not any promo codes that can be combined with this deal like last time around? is this your area of expertise please?

I haven't looked, the £196 last time will not be beaten for a while

Been on the fence ... but looks like the best Pixel 7 deal going currently. Unless I've missed something?
    Giwin's avatar
You haven't missed anything, also awaiting a very good deal either on 7 or 7 pro
  19. vmk's avatar
Do they sell it for the same price in store? I need a phone today and the site says that I can only collect it on the 18th if choose Click and Collect.
    habylab's avatar
    Did you find out?

I'm android through and through and my ageing S10+ is still better for me in real world scenarios. Samsung is really handing google its own backside in this respect and it saddens me.
Google, you have to pull out ALL the stops, you're being shown up. I reckon all the folks in your Pixel 7 adverts are back on iPhones or Galaxies by now, simply because they work.
The fingerprint reader, modem capability to acquire and retain signal, and the battery life, is truly woeful.
Naturally YMMV, this is my experience. Pixels are simply not an option for me now or in the future unless they radically change for the better. I sincerely hope your experience is better if you buy one.
    p3108's avatar
Are you taking S23 SD v Pixel rather than S21/22 Exynos?

Website is rubbish. Couldn't get the direct debit bit to confirm, kept coming up with error. Phoned and they said yeah we're having same issue, great. Tried again hours later and now cannot hit confirm after inputting new customer details. Frustrating
