sorted byI have a server and can have some power hungrier m.2 enterprise ssds within the same price. The downside is they’re 22110 and yes most likely more wats consumed
The other downside when having servers is that I need about 3 at least ideally 5 (one sitting unused to replace any of the 3 working) and ideally another one to act as failsafe for the second failure.
That is per server .
If you have a failover backup server the add 2 more at least
A whooping 7 in total just for storage/vms
I am not talking about having the ones having os on!
This calculationis just for 4tb used :-)
That is zfs raid/ or better zfs raidz1
Looking for someone to convince me the investment is not worth it. (edited)
