Can anyone explain what steam is please, and what are key's? thanks

    Take your pick..

"Steam is the technical term for the gaseous phase of water, which is formed when water boils."

"Steam is an internet-based digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer, and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute games and related media from small, independent developers and larger software houses online."

"A key is a device that is used to operate a lock. A typical key is a small piece of metal consisting of two parts: the blade, which slides into the keyway of the lock and distinguishes between different keys, and the bow, which is left protruding so that torque can be applied by the user. A key is usually intended to operate one specific lock or a small number of locks that are keyed alike, so each lock requires a unique key. The key serves as a security token for access to the locked area; only persons having the correct key can open the lock and gain access."

"A product key, also known as a software key, is a specific software-based key for a computer program. It certifies that the copy of the program is original. Activation is sometimes done offline by entering the key, or with software like Windows 7, online activation is required to prevent multiple people using the same key. Not all software has a product key, as some publishers may choose to use a different method to protect their copyright, or in some cases, such as open source software, copyright protection is not used."

Explicitly states US customers only.Using false details to obtain goods … Explicitly states US customers only.Using false details to obtain goods is fraud and deception. All purchases can and may be tracked by US federal law enforcement in collaboration with other agencies. Fraud of this nature is certainly grounds for a knock on your door with an arrest warrant and prosecution. Extradition is a real possibility for serial offenders. For those who wouldn't mind seeing the inside of Guantanamo prison please do continue with your order with false details.

You get a single 'game' called 'Sega Genesis & Mega Drive Classics' listed in your Steam library, which is basically an emulator with a user interface/menu. The individual Mega Drive games each count as a piece of DLC.

This is mine, as purchased from the Humble Bundle the other month -

What a deal! Really like the system on Steam too, it seems to run a stand-alone program to launch the games out of, which means your Steam library won't get cluttered up with 48 separate titles (as if it isn't cluttered enough for most of us). Also, since it's from America, these are running at 60Hz and not the crippled 50Hz that they were in the UK (and, only recently, still had to have on Virtual Console etc). Better than the original! Thanks OP, heat added.

I placed an order against a US address of a friend I already had in my Amazon UK account (I've ordered stuff from the states to go to him for re-shipping before). But the validation process took about 4 minutes to time out, and now it says it may take a further 4 hours to validate because they have extra checks on game code orders.

I guess I'll wait and see. I just hope they don't phone my mate in the US at 5:40am in the morning since his phone number was on the address.

Thanks ordered two lots of codes, one because I already had the individual codes (minus the collection series) from a HumbleBundle, so had to buy two to give myself the full set and then another full set to giveaway. I think I'll do a SEGA themed one for my site next week.

Dude this is awesome, thanks for posting. Just installed all the seperate keys and they all come under 'SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics' Launch that single game and brings up a little player type window where you can cycle through all the roms, works perfect with 360 controller too. hOT!

UPDATE : I just bought another pack, and after purchasing was shown a single code on screen, first time around I never saw this code. I checked my email and all single codes were inside the email, so all those that see the single code, ignore it and check your email. X)

Thanks bud. So that dozen or so codes covers everything? (I should probably just try and stop asking)

EDIT: Done. Added the individual codes instead of the single one

Only 37 titles are showing on mine, 10 or so are marked as "Not Installed". My only guess is that you need to unlock the games by playing some of the other titles. I think the Xbox/PS3 version had unlockable games so I'm guessing its the same deal here.

How can you view which ones aren't installed?

Right Click the title > View Downloadable Content

I have Windows 8.1 but didn't see any such information. My fix was to view the list of games (Right Click > View Downloadable Content) and then deselect the install checkbox on any game not installed and select it again, this should force the game to update to include the titles
