Details

This reliable and robust Seiko watch features a 38 x 10mm stainless steel case with a 7S26 movement that's fitted with 21 Jewels and has a power reserve of 41 hours. It automatically re-charges with the motion of the wearers arm providing reliable and environmentally sound timekeeping without the need to re-charge or replace batteries, thus proving significantly more convenient than many other quartz watches. With a clear ‘exhibition’ case back, the beautifully crafted movement with moving rotor and wheels is showcased and pays testament to a brand who have been making watches and proudly winning awards since 1881. With the added convenience of a black dial displaying both the day and date while also providing 30 metres of water resistance, this watch is both functional and classic. Seiko 5 watches provide the prefect affordable introduction to the wonderful world of Automatic watches and will give years of enjoyment and good service.

The bracelet looks great but is a hair nipper for me (and rattly.)

I “notched” a Watchgecko 20mm down to 18mm to fit the lugs.

Great on a NATO too, which bulks it up a bit more for the bigger wrist.

Hey! Thanks for sharing my unboxing video! I can confirm that it is a fantastic little watch this one. I actually sold mine earlier on this year and picked up a SNKL23 instead. I have regretted it ever since. The size of the head is perfect for smaller wrists and looks fantastic on that black and red strap you paired it with. Definitely a top tier ticker in my book.

Thanks for posting, and also for the photo posted by Northanlight as this sold the watch to me, it looks beautiful with a different strap. Worth mentioning that I ordered online and collected in store, where I was given the additional offer of a free £10 voucher to be used by Christmas

7S26 movement, not the most accurate but bulletproof!

    Hot!

    It’s an SNKL83K1 not a ‘79.
It’s a lovely, versatile, little watch with a great dial: I love mine.

Absolutely. They have both models for the same price.

I have the sieko 5 with Arabic numbers, changed the strap to leather with white stitching, one of the most beautiful watches ever

I;m a Seiko fan but was looking at another Seiko 5 automatic on Amazon and the comments suggested a ten percent failure rate which seems extreme or they were fakes? amazon.co.uk/dp/…5U/

Quite how the Seiko 5's gain or lose 5 minutes each week is beyond me. Too inaccurate for me so I sold mine. My Omega Seamaster was 1 second out per month, admittedly different class of watch. I'm now sticking to a smart watch

Greetings Seiko Basher, FYI the Seiko 5 uses the updated NH36A with a tolerance of -20 to +40 a day thus giving an upper limit of 2.6 minutes per week. Thus, if your watch had lost the stated 5 minutes it should be returned under guarantee to the authorised dealer you purchased from in order to be repaired or replaced. Did you not read the guarantee manual that came along with the watch? Surprising, yet quick to blame Seiko while taking no action to rectify the situation. Comparing a Seamaster with a Seiko 5 is not helpful to anyone either, I once purchased a 1957 speedmaster original many years ago at a charity auction, never worn as not my style and I had an ICW Da'Vinci at the time which I couldn't part with. Hopefully 'smart watch' (never even heard of the brand) does a better job of timekeeping for you. (edited)

Not fan of this case, prefer the other on seiko 5.

£79 here no idea about the retailer (I prefer to buy in person so I can inspect fine detail with my Loupe) (edited)

Can you wind it up if it dies?
    t78's avatar
No, this auto movement doesn't hand-wind
