In my book these are a step down from the 599s you also just listed! Also, they're almost double the price

How would you say they are a step down? The 560S has better accuracy across the board and far less distortion. The only category where the 599 would be a step up is the ease of driving and perhaps the clamp force. If you don't have access to EQ, then the 599s are a bit easier to listen to, the 560S is quite sharp in the treble. (edited)

These. Hd560s are very good headphones ... And reviews & people rate these far better than 599. This headphone uses same tech as much higher priced headphones like the hd660s. (edited)

Love these headphones, I'm tempted to buy another pair but my current pair have lasted me 2 years (with drops) and counting I'm not an audiophile but I've heard some say these headphones have an analytical feel where you can listen to individual instruments if you focus, but I have no idea what I'm talking about.. all I know is these are my favourite with a decent price on them.
