Nice discount on this. Black only but still looks pretty swanky. Unipivot arm, good quality built in phono stage, glass + aluminium platter. Free shipping.

I'm quite tempted but trying to be good so hoping you guys can put it out of stock for me

Cue the usual vinyl v digital argument in 3,2,1.... (they're not mutually exclusive you know!).

Thanks for posting. This is sleek looking turntable I've not come across before. Here are my thoughts:

    Pros
    Sleek modern design
    Adjustable tracking force
    Adjustable antiskate force
Adjustable azimuth - unusual in this price range though bear in mind different records have different thicknesses so if you want to make the most of it you will need to dnsut for each record.
Standard headshell which will take most cartridges - easy upgrade path.
70db signal to noise ratio and 0.04% Total Harmonic Distortion of the built-in phono stage. This is bette than what the vinyl medium can achieve, if the spec sheet for the phono stage is to be trusted.

    Cons
Belt drive - much poorer wow and flutter performance (speed stability) than direct drive. All the stuff in the blurb about "digitally synthesised AC signal" will be completely offset by using a rubber belt. High end, cottage industry turntable manufacturers try to dispute this but objective scientific measurements show otherwise - the direct drive turntables developed by Japanese engineers in the 70s are superior.
Mystery cartridge. It has a bonded elliptical stylus which is decidedly middle of the road. Also no upgrade path to a better micro line or shibata stylus.

Personally, I'd pass on this and buy an Audio-Technica ATLP120XUSB direct drive for £250 from Richer Sounds. The included cartridge is good and has an elliptical stylus like the Roksan, but it can be swapped out for a micro line stylus, the best sort of ever made, for an additional £129. So for £379 you get a turntable with sound quality which is about as good as you will ever get, given the limitations of the vinyl format. The Roksan does look cooler though.

Thank you, was tempted to upgrade from my Project Debut Carbon but no real benefit it seems. Guess I’m better off chucking an ortofon blue on it and maybe an acrylic platter.

There's also an ex display one at Sevenoaks Sound and Vision for collection from their Sevenoaks store for £399. They had several last week at various stores but none by me. I'd be all over this if there was one local.
