sorted byThe standard version runs at nearly twice the performance, and actually looks better when all settings are cranked up. The definitive edition is based off of the console versions so textures and effects like ambient occlusion are lower. They did add a fog effect, and streamline the DLC, but I still prefer the original release myself.
I believe I set it to 45 fps and it wasn't too much of a battery killer, though that will also depend on your in-game settings.
Just ensure you don't set anti-aliasing to SSAA, that will absolutely tank performance (as it renders the game in a higher res).
