*Warning - Please get a sparky if you are not competent as maintaining earth continuity is key on some classes of electrical products*

Please don't read the Amazon reviews and think cutting the earth to install this on an extension lead is a good idea! (See review with image of electrical radiator on extension lead)

Bought several of these a few years back and incorporated them into some IEC leads to control various devices.

Although they are relatively small and inconspicuous, having to run an earth wire around them was a pain, and they soon became quite unreliable too. Would often go to the smart home app to find them offline.

Replaced them with Meross smart plugs and all good since.

Yeah I got loads too - more reliable than the s26 plugs which all bar 1 have died, mine were about £3 a few yrs ago - amazing how prices have changed

I have 4 S26 used daily since about 4 years ago, not an issue once.

I have to ask the question regarding this item, what does it offer over a smart plug?

Controls locally instead of having to talk to a server like most plugs do.

Did look at these but the lack of earth was a big nope, smart plugs have come down a lot in price and these used to be a cheaper option.
