At the heart of the Sony BRAVIA FWD-85X90H is a cinematic, 85 inch screen for immersive viewing. The BRAVIA display uses Full Array local dimming for extraordinary contrast and vivid colour. Sony’s powerful X1 processor keeps the action flowing smoothly. With Android TV, Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast built-in, you can share content from your Smartphone, on the big screen.

Sony 4K HDR Processor X1 for perfect picture control
With Sony’s X1 processor at its heart, this Sony 85 inch TV delivers the very best from 4K HDR images. The processor enhances all aspects of the image, including colour, contrast and clarity, to give optimised depth and realism. Working with the TRILUMINOS display, colours are natural and authentic, helping the screen produce the most natural and lifelike colour.

Support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision
Making the most of its generous, 4K screen, the FWD-85X90H supports a range of HDR formats, for the ultimate image definition. As well as HDR10 and HLG formats, this Sony is also compatible with Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Very much an industry standard, Dolby Vision continually adjusts the picture for the most remarkable realism.

Full Array local dimming for superb brightness and contrast
Full Array local dimming maximises contrast and brightness by allowing very dark and very bright parts of the images to sit crisply, side-by-side each other. When combined with HDR formats, it lets you see previously blurred or invisible detail, such as bright highlights within dark shadow.

100Hz panel and X-Motion Clarity for flowing vision
Featuring a native 100Hz panel, the FWD-85X90H offers faster refresh rates, giving smoother, more realistic vision with action movies and sports events. Sony’s X-Motion Clarity works with the 100Hz panel to keep motion smooth, without looking artificial. Getting the perfect balance between blur-free images and natural movement, X-Motion Clarity remains true to the director’s intention.

4K X-Reality PRO upscaling
Thanks to Sony's 4K X-Reality Pro technology, standard images from TV and other sources are taken as close to UHD 4K resolution as possible, for stunning clarity.

X-Balanced speakers for sonic clarity
Designed to enhance both the sound and style of this Sony screen, X-Balanced speakers use a unique design to enhance the clarity of speech and music, whilst keeping the cabinet sleek and slim. For the best in cinema sound, the sound is also compatible with Dolby Atmos audio.

Smart Android TV
Bringing together photos, music, movies, Internet and apps, the Sony Android system makes accessing a huge range of entertainment easy. Android TV accesses Google Play’s store of over 5000 Android apps to bring you the content you want. Check out movies, box sets, TV shows, news, sports and games – all under one roof.

Watch what’s on your smartphone, on the big screen
With support for Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay, it’s easy to stream your video content directly from your Android or Apple iOS device. For a quick and easy way to share what’s on your smartphone with the whole room, simply pair and share.

Adjustable stand suits your support
With such a wide screen, you might find that your cabinet or shelf isn’t wide enough to support the TV. With this in mind, Sony offers 2-way position support with a ‘narrow’ setting for smaller support surfaces.

Sleek, Sony style
With its slim, black bezel, this Sony TV looks every bit as sleek and timeless as you’d expect from a BRAVIA design. The elegant Metal Blade feet enhance the style while still providing sturdy support.

Get a bigger screen, that’s better into the bargain, with the Sony BRAVIA FWD-85X90H.

I'm seriously wondering whether to pull the trigger on this. Last time we had to have the roof removed which pushed the communal service charges on our building up something rotten (edited)

This is a commercial display designed more for business use rather than a consumer/home TV. What practical difference that makes I'm not exactly sure but it does only have a maximum brightness of 620 nits.

This hits over 740nits peak. I'm not sure what you want for a home TV? It's also a 85" FALD for less then £1500

A review I think with some explanation of confusing model numbers t3.com/rev…-tv. Anyone of you tv buffs out there explain what this means 4 HDMI 2.0 Yes (HDMI 2.3 x 4). Software update enabling gaming ?

It didn't have 120hz at launch. It was enabled by a software update.

This model doesn't have a 120hz screen anyway. And the 120hz models in this range were hamstrung by the fact VRR disabled local dimming lol, so it's pointless.
