sorted bySony don't want to do anything about it - speaking to multiple levels of their service teams about it they repeatedly say it's normal wear and tear. When I've pushed them on products lasting a reasonable time, they kick back "the product still works".
To give you an idea - I currently get one half of my commute (1 hour) in battery before I have to charge them in the office for the ride home. I wouldn't buy them again, recommend over ears if you can. (edited)
I daily drive Samsung Galaxy Buds live, the jelly bean model, which are still very comfortable. The sound quality between the two aren't that far off. The buds live had a slightly fuller base, where as the Sony felt overall more balanced across the board.
The buds two had to be on at 80% volume level where as the Sony were around 60% to get the same volume, so seems to be a bit more room to help write out background noise.
The Sony's have a great ANC and settings to let in ambient noise, as well the detect talk feature (which is pretty cool). Only thing I didn't like in the app is the lack of re programming the touch keys. There are presets you can pick from, but you cannot make your own.
So I have volume on left, tap for up, hold for down
Right ear, tap for play, double skip, triple for back long press for audio input (voice assist).
Not owned them long enough to see battery life, but will give them a few days at the gym.
Also I owned the xm3 buds on sale and within 30mins I decided to put them on eBay, as they were such a horrible fit and would fall out. These have a better fit in the ear. No where as good as the jelly beans from Samsung, but I feel a great seal.
Edit;
Been messing about with them for the past hour and I've gone from 100% to 82%. Which would be about 5 hours. (edited)
Additionally, you cannot use the left one on its own. And it's really bulky, but comfortable.
I am disappointed in them.
