Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.

In the year 2330, humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. You will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy – and navigate the vast expanse of space in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.

Tell Your story
In Starfield the most important story is the one you tell with your character. Start your journey by customizing your appearance and deciding your Background and Traits. Will you be an experienced explorer, a charming diplomat, a stealthy cyber runner, or something else entirely? The choice is yours. Decide who you will be and what you will become.

Explore Outer Space
Venture through the stars and explore more than 1000 planets. Navigate bustling cities, explore dangerous bases, and traverse wild landscapes. Meet and recruit a memorable cast of characters, join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. A new story or experience is always waiting to be discovered.

Captain the Ship Of Your Dreams
Pilot and command the ship of your dreams. Personalize the look of your ship, modify critical systems including weapons and shields, and assign crew members to provide unique bonuses. In deep space you will engage in high-stakes dogfights, encounter random missions, dock at star stations, and even board and commandeer enemy ships to add to your collection.

Discover, Collect, Build
Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.

Lock and Load
Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Zero G environments add a chaotic spectacle to combat, while boost packs give players freedom to maneuver like never before.

Iceland xbox store (no VPN needed) is doing the premium edition for £56

    xbox.com/is-…J41

9,349 ISK is only £56, although i know a lot of you guys hate the Microsoft store with a passion, its an xbox play anywhere title.

    Brilliant find many thanks

Hard to believe there will ever be another game released that isn't riddled with bugs.

I hate that I'm going to pay £45 for the pre order knowing it's free on gamepass just because I'm impatient
    LiamSmith78's avatar
Why are you paying £45? Isn't it only the £65 premium edition the one with early access?
  3. BrianButterfield's avatar
Is this game good or is it another Bethesda flop?
    WardedPredator's avatar
Hopefully another massive hit like Bethesda other single player RPGs.

Its amusing to see people thinking its "free" on Game Pass

There's no DLC with Game Pass and its never cheap to add that way.
Many will be annoyed by Game Pass "Play on Day 1" when they have to wait a week
Game Pass costs anything from under £60 to £132 a year and theres been nothing worth the price for a long time now
Rewards are the only way to make Game Pass worth it

    - So it is cheaper to buy just the games you want outright (edited)
    Gostems's avatar
Depends on how many games and how long you intend to play the game. If you just want to smash it for a month then actually paying £7 for that month is a much better way of going about it. Would never subscribe to a year because there's deffo not enough games to be worth that on there

Trying to tell myself its not another "No mans sky", Got so hyped up for that and binned it after about 2 hours.

No multiplayer in such a large game? (edited)
    vhero's avatar
No multiplayer and theres loading screens everytime u leave a planet. NMS in 2023 is much more than this game. If you only played at launch and still own it I suggest you give it a go again as its a totally different game now.
  6. Akahn66's avatar
Pay 7 squids on game pass for a month or two then forget about it
  7. marra's avatar
I still can't believe this isn't multiplayer I assumed it was I only found yesterday it wasn't.
    russelkhan's avatar
For me that's one of its plus points!

I'll never understand why people are so determined to see this game fail? Yes Fallout 76 was a buggy mess on release. But it wasn't produced by the same team that has made Starfield and it's a pretty decent survival/RPG/open world game now. People have forgot how mind-blowing Skyrim was when it released 12 years ago and also how amazing Oblivion was when it released. Morrowind too. Bethesda do this kind of thing very very well and I cannot wait to play it.

I don't think I've ever read so much nonsense in a deal's comments section. Here it goes...

No, Game Pass isn't free, but as everyone pays less than £3/mth for it, it's practically free. If you like Starfield and still want to buy and own it, there's nothing stopping Game Pass subscribers from doing so. It'll be cheap and include all the DLC in a few years too.

This is an apples to oranges comparison to No Man's Sky. It may look visually similar, but this is where the similarities end. Starfield is a far richer game with curated worlds, curated stories, and branching narratives.

No, there are no reviews yet. Given it's such a huge game, there won't be any accurate reviews until late September.

Yes, it's Bethesda's first original IP in a long time, but I'm seeing absolutely no originality over in the Sony camp... It's endless 3rd person action game sequels over there.

No, this isn't multiplayer... Were any of Bethesda's other mainline RPGs multiplayer (Fallout 76 isn't a mainline RPG, it's a Fallout spin-off).

The only thing I've read that I agree with is the abhorrent practice of charging for early access. They have effectively 'moved the goalposts' and simply renamed "Day 1" to "Day 6" for us Game Pass subscribers. Please don't buy into and legitimise this practice.

everyone pays less than £3/mth for it

    Nonsense
  10. Luc20's avatar
We've only seen cinematic trailers without any gameplay so far which is a bit of a warning sign tbh. I'll wait for reviews and then decide if this is a game for me. Those who preordered Cyberpunk back in the day will know what I mean.
  11. Polythene's avatar
I find it pretty hilarious that a game advertised to be so big that no-one will ever see all of it needs additional content as a selling point for pre orders.

Premium has story expansion, that shouldn't take long to do, but over 1000 planets to explore so yeah
  12. davidlca's avatar
They sent copies to selected rewievers and vloggers some time ago and couple of people reported that 15 hours in the game and not a single bug. Bethesda claims that this is the most polished game they released. I bought it already as it looks amazing. Looking forward to the release date.

I'm not sure the comments are about the game failing - this is a deals site more than somewhere to vote for a favourite console so discussion is more about the economics of buying wanted games outright versus the 'GP is the deal of the century' narrative that some still haven't caught up with how few now believe.

When your argument for GP relies on 'everyone pays less than £3/mth for it' or 'costs about £23 a year' you know the argument's already lost.

There's simply not been one game in the last year on GP anywhere near Zelda TotK or Baldur's Gate or Elden Ring that you'd want to buy outright, plus Starfield will be a game to play for months into the future after already been delayed for ages - it feels like its already costing 1-2 years of GP to play Starfield (plus buying DLC which is always important in Bethesda games).

Luckily if you do get GP for under £5 a month and do Rewards every day for the £12 a month back it works out OK - but that's hardly a win for GP for everybody. (edited)

£65 if you want to play 5 days early.

Does it say when they'll send the code though? Might not get it until release.

Well reviews are starting to be released. So far so good. (edited)
    nickroll's avatar
87 on Metacritic, that's the same as Gran Turismo 7 and only one below Horizon Forbidden West. Both good games, not gonna threaten Zelda or Baldur's Gate 3 for GOTY but pretty good going all things considered! (edited)

'Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios'

They say that as if it's something to be proud of.

The Last elder scrolls game was 2011, and the last single player fallout was 2015. Bethesda is not a studio famed for its productivity.

Grabbed when it was £33 two months ago. I don't spend much more than that on PC games considering how much the hardware costs in the first place.

Good to bump the offer, it’s been this price on CDkeys since at least June (the previous deal went cold very quickly, so it’s interesting to see how opinions have changed).
