sorted byUPDATE: Just checked CEX, and looks like they'll happily take the game off you for 16 quid, so 49 quid for the official drum controller with warranty, not bad at all! (edited)
Ah that’s a pain!
I haven’t opened the one I got before crimbo so I’m off to return it to argos and reordering at £65.
£15 is better in my pocket for 5 mins effort.
It probably would be easier to buy it from Argos, yes.
You should consider yourself lucky to get it for £79, I imported my game and drum from Japan, I received it on release day over there, which was good, but after paying £180 for it (after tax and customs fee), the last thing I wanted to hear was that I was going to get a Western release.
For anyone new to the game, there is a free online version available here.
There are 3rd party drums on eBay for about £40 - I don't believe they are as responsive though. (edited)
Worst it be easier just to buy another one at £65 and sell the game.
I got this before Christmas for £79.
Wow, this online version is pretty good! Thanks! Maybe gives us something to play to see in the new year tonight, lol...
Call of Duty?
for people wondering about getting it, remember the peripheral also works on PC so so you can play the Taiko mode of Osu! with it!
Really enjoy the game, but risk annoying the neighbours with how loud the drums are!
If you want extra drums, you'll have to import them from Japan. All the usual import shops have them in stock for around £50 (can't post them here, as they're not based in the UK)
They are indeed made by Hori, very good quality.
Please let me know how it goes
OK - thanks - I've removed that bit of my comment
It's relevant for Switch Lite owners though (and me because my Switch dock doesn't do TV out for some reason). (edited)
I had already checked that the game supports 2 drum controllers per switch, but your USB-C comment had me worried for a moment there!
"The Drum Controller can only be used in TV Mode, as it requires to be connected to the Nintendo Switch Dock via a USB cable. Up to 2 Drum Controllers are supported per Nintendo Switch Console..."

Hi, I dropped off both games to CEX. The lady accepted no problem. Just checked my email and there is an order for £32 to be paid by bank transfer.
Due to Lockdown in London I placed a drop and go via CEX website, quoted the reference number at the door and handed over the games.
All the time

also available via their ebay store for £64.99 + £2.99 postage

Not sure. I am fairly sure it is made by hori though.
Heads up to anyone interested in the digital version. It’s £12.50 on the eshop, sale ends tonight.
For anyone interested in the drum only, I’m sure you can pick it up from the Bandai Namco site for £65.
The drum had been out of stock most places so I was surprised to see a restock on their site about a month ago.
Me personally, I am selling both my physical versions of the game to CEX today and just keeping drums with digital version of the game. (edited)
The Hori (original) version uses a standard USB port, not USB C. I have never tried it with 2 drums because I don't have 2, but I would assume you can use both USB ports on the front of the Switch dock. There's loads of videos on YouTube of people playing with 2 drums, so surely there's a way to make it work.
I have the drum for the switch and it does not use USB-C but rather USB type A.
I use mine with the dock and a 3 metre USB extension cable and have no problems. Just checked my dock and can see it has two USB Type A ports on the side so don’t expect two drums to be an issue.
You mean some drum connectors have a USB-C connector?? My old current drum controller was a plain USB connector, and I just picked up this new one from Argos and it's a normal USB connector too (see photo) and the official switch dock has like 3 usb ports right?
im doing the same thing although I already opened mine so Im going to return the new one I'm buying.
I connected it to my pc for OSU! as soon as I got home and after setting the controls to the drum it works. (although I think I'll have to do the drum mod that everyone seems to so as the sensitivity is a bit hit or miss sometimes.)
Bargain for £65!
The Switch drums work on the PS4 if you use a Switch/PS4 USB (controller) adapter.
Seen the Brook converter & Mayflash adapter mentioned. More expense but cheaper than buying a Switch

Wrong, you can easily attach the drum with a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
Yes, one drum and two sticks.
How much are extra drums? Who sells them?
Oh no
The version of the game that comes with the drum controller has got the German USK logo in the cover, whereas the standalone UK retail version doesn't.
I am thinking of trying to sell the game to CEX, but I wonder if they will take it as it looks like an European version. Isn't it the case that they only accept UK versions?
