That took me ages to work out!

Great post, the key being the 25% comes off the RRP of around £60/6 not £24/6 (the reduced price) - sadly no 25% off 6 allowed in Scotland so good luck to those in other parts of the UK.

Super deal.

Superb!! i might go down and see if i can get the same!

It's a pity this isn't really a good quality wine. Over-priced to start....but at £1.50/bottle/net, is a fair price.

Original Poster

It will work with other wines in the 3 for £12 but the ogio being just under £10 a bottle maximizes the discount

Shame there was only 6 bottles of each in my store was cheeky and asked the manager if they had more said more arrives later today. Hope everyone manages to fill there boots on this one

Enjoy

True was never worth a tenner a bottle but for 1.50 a bottle cant go wrong

Hopefully there computers will flag this up and disappoint the jobless alcoholics who will be rushing to tesco for there breakfast wine

Very well played!
Will venture over to Tesco after work, although I suspect they'll have twigged and adjusted the offer by then.

Tesco make this 'mistake' on wine at least once a year, I still have some of the small bottles I got 2 years back for about 60p each. In fact I used a red last night in my stew!

Does this only work instore?

Yup, don't think the 25% off is showing online-just tried it and it shows up at £24, i.e. just the "3 for £12".

Would be good for mulled wine this...heat added!

I tried that too and also got £24, if anyone knows if it is possible to get the 25% off online then please share as stuck at home all today. Ta.

It is online also. The discount shows up on your receipt when you get your shopping, not at the basket stage. I'm just waiting for my order now. No Ogio available for my online shop but have got the Hardy's at £6.79 which should work out at £2.30 a bottle when both discounts come off.

any idea why the 25% doesn't come off if ordered online to collect, only the 3 for £12 showing in basket

great minds lol

As in, when you collect or it's delivered? So does that mean if you ordered this wine only you'd pay online £24 but actually you'd be charged £9.01 on your card? Sorry, not following...

Just been to my local and got 6 Hardy's £13.81

I've not done the collect thing but for deliveries it comes off at delivery stage as 'wine discount' your card isn't charged until delivery, your basket price is a 'guide price'.

how can they have the cheek of saying this wine is worth £9.99, this is the same sort of wine you find 2 for £5 in off licenses

Already posted … Already posted yesterday:-http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/25-off-6-bottles-wine-starts-tomorrow-1349590#comments

I posted this here as the old post was about the 25% discount pre it starting today and the OP did not know about the glitch. We (the community) discussed it may glitch yesterday evening and I was up early this morning to try it out and report back (read MY posts on that thread!). I made this post to inform the masses about the wine glitch to show proof and to show the maths. Please no pointless hating thank you very much!

does this work in Scotland? :-(

not working at my local Tesco Express...maybe just at Extras?

I don't know how you got a job given your rubbish spelling.

Worked in the Tesco Express I have just been into. Many thanks. 6 bottles of Hardys for £13. Good value.

Any item is "worth" what somebody is willing to pay for it. Wine especially is largely a "perceived value" good. For 99%+ of people here, including myself to some degree, the primary determinants of how good they declare a given wine to be after they have imbibed it relate to the bottle, the price of the wine, and the temperature at which it was served. I've become somewhat of a fanatic of both Sauternes and sweet Rieslings--(yes - I like sweet wines). I can differentiate them quite well. But I couldn't differentiate a 4 pound from a 12 pound cab/merlot from another, even though I've probably had hundreds of them in my life at various functions.

for dry white wines, take away the bottle and receipt, and most people will grade the wine more or less based on the temperature at which it is served. ironically, in practice, the colder the better score, as while people like to pretend they drink and like dry wine, most actually don't, and the cooler temperature numbs the taste buds and/or leaves only the sweeter overtones.
