I remember being in school in 6th form. I went to a high school in Wales, one of the worst schools in Wales I would say. The teachers couldn't teach and they certainly couldn't motivate. Anyway a Sisters of Mercy song played out one day on the 6th form common room radio and a spectacular low IQ classmate said ugh this is the kind of dirty band that all have AIDS and spread it. I thought as soon as I get out of this school I am going to do everything I can to better myself and The Sisters of Mercy are a flagbearer for me against low IQ thinking, against prejudice and against cock wombles that all of us meet every single day.

Lucretia - My Reflection is my favourite Sisters of Mercy song. (edited)

Remember being a teenage goth and putting this corrosion all 11 minutes of it on in a fun pub back in the day, almost got lynched.

Thanks for posting. Have been listening to the ‘sisters’ in recent weeks on some long journeys. Saw them a number of times over the years , also got the ‘Nephs’ 1st album on my play list too. Couldn’t resist and bought this

Nephs Earth Inferno is a great live album to try as well.

Got tickets to see them final night of the tour at Glasgow Barras.. Not seen them since '90.

Saw them in Bristol right before lockdown. Good for a nostalgia kick but some way off my memories from their heyday.

FFS I was trying to have a couple of weeks not buying any vinyl , takes me back to being 17 and a mate lending me a taped copy. Finally got to see them a couple of years ago , sadly well past their best but one off the bucket list. (edited)

Ah I haven't had a record deck for 25 years but I'm so tempted to buy this as a memento of my early teenage years!
