I was going to get one, then I saw a lot of bad reviews that put me off. Broken controllers and not fitting next generation controller properly. This is on Amazon itself, I don't see many good reviews that look genuine. There are 5 star reviews for faulty products and people saying that it's not great, which leads me to believe that the 5 star ratings are coming from people who buy the product using a site that tells them they can have their money back if they buy certain products and leave a 5 star rating.

I bought one of these a few months ago and yes I can confirm it broke my controllers. The images suggest that thats been fixed with a slight revision though. So I don't think they will break your controller now.

Basically that little line of plastic in the middle was on both sides and would shred the pins used for the official charge kit. Looks like its on one side now so as long as it doesn't go in the wrong way it should be fine. Battery life is half decent all things considered but just annoyed that the damage is already done

Why not just get a bundle of rechargeable AA’s and charger which can then be used in more than XBox controllers.

That's a good point and I've actually tried that using various brands, including Duracell, but for some reason they stop working in controllers after a few charges, no matter what brand I used. What I mean by stopped working in controllers is that the controller would not turn on after a random amount of battery recharges. Push the button and it just flashes. I could bypass it by plugging a USB cable into the controller and switching it on then taking out the USB. It would then stay on until I powered off and then I had the same thing happen. Tried everything, swapped battery brand, swapped controller and swapped charger. Always have the problem of the controller not coming on after a few uses. Never had the problem with charging docks etc, so I prefer those for controllers as I felt like I was just throwing money away using standard rechargeable batteries and having them failing to power up the controller after a few uses without connecting to a usb first. A really odd problem that I couldn't figure out why it was happening with batteries.
