Does anyone know if this is also available in-store?

I’ve actually been looking for one of these tools for a while, never know how much to trust the reviews of the cheaper options on screwfix/toolstation, but I’d take a chance for this sort of money.

I have one, they’re alright tbf. I wouldn’t use it in an every day environment but for a hobbyist/diy’er they’re more than enough

Looks OK for the price. But badly crimped terminals can the cause of all sorts of intermittent electrical gremlins.

If you want to use pre-insulated terminals, it's worth looking out for the type that have brass crimps that go over the insulation as well as the wires. Most of them (including these by the look of it) rely on the plastic being crimped over the wire insulation, which isn't very effective.

Far better are the uninsulated terminals, which have separate slide-over insulation sleeves. So you first crimp the terminal, with a proper 'B' crimp on the wire outer, then slide the insulation over (assuming you've remembered to put it on the wire before doing the crimping). They're much harder to source, and require special crimpers, but provide a far more secure connection.

    This sort of thing: ebay.co.uk/itm…952

    And the tool: ebay.co.uk/itm…271

Those are just examples, I haven't purchased either so can't vouch for quality. (edited)
