Come on guys. Let's not turn this into a war.

It was always going to be a punt. Clearly titled as a mis-price. We've all had a go at one at some point. Won some and lost some. It's the way it is with the mis priced items, if you're not in it, you're never going to become one of the 'lucky ones' - In it to win it.

We all get a little heated sometimes when it doesn't turn out, and I suppose in a way we convince ourselves it's going to happen with little statements that aren't really justified.

My last misprice was a £250 George vac, I paid £19. I didn't expect it, it was cancelled and it still turned up. It's ok getting all the everyday low priced items at £5 off, but it's those mega deals that pay off in the end that are the satisfying ones.

Everybody tried, no harm done. If it doesn't turn out then worst case scenario you will be refunded...at some point. Apologies to those who feel I shouldn't have shared this, but it's what I do. I really hope even one person makes use of this post. Merry Christmas to you all (edited)

This is no glitch, it's simply a clever marketing trick to draw people in …This is no glitch, it's simply a clever marketing trick to draw people in and get people talking about it. It's basically free advertising for them, they'll probably let a few slip but also their going to earn a lot of interest for keeping our money for a few days too

I guess you've never been involved in marketing? This might be the case if this was some site that no one had ever head of. But the idea that argos marketing dept. are deliberately misleading people to 'draw people in' is such a nonsense I can't believe people actually think it.

Firstly they put themselves at risk of legal action, secondly this generates bad will not good will. It makes them look like amateurs, where as they obviously want to be seen as a one of the UK's most established retailers that people can trust.

Secondly the clicks on this (that generate bad will anyway) are so tiny in the great scheme of things as to likely be irrelevant to their bottom line. Even if EVERY person bought something else after buying this, it would be impossible to quantify the damage done when all those people get a cancelled order. They may never return again.

Do you see why as a marketing campaign it's impossible to sell? There's reason they run nationally advertised £5 off over £50 Etc.

Honestly the comments on here never cease to amaze me. It's like being in a room with a bunch of conspiracy theorists. smh

If everyone who's order gets cancelled just donates £1 to me, I'll go and buy one at full price and let you all know how it is.

    (Mine was cancelled too) (edited)

They have cancelled my order. I have immediately contacted the police as this is illegal, I have informed my local mp and asked him to raise it in parliament and I have found out the argos ceo's address and sent a ton of manure to his Shropshire address.

    We shall not be defeated.

There were Laptops, iPads, and other products that were very clearly priced up wrong on the website today. All available for immediate pick up. Paid online and picked up 20 minutes later, so I’m a happy boy.

Website is now down for maintenance so it looks like they’ve resolving a pretty big issue!

    Dear santa,

I've been a very good boy this year. There have been many deals posted on hukd but I've managed to behave and control myself.
The Samsung S8 came up. But I said no, no!
The note 8 came. But I said no, no!

Now that this deal has been posted, I have no option but to say yes please!

Santa, please, please please have a word with your elves over at Argos and and get them to fulfil my order.

    Thank you

    Love,
    K

I don't think it really matters whether people tried to order one or ten - …I don't think it really matters whether people tried to order one or ten - they'd have picked up on it and refused to honour as per their terms and conditions. You wonder whether they do things like this on purpose to drum up interest as lets be honest, there should be enough systems in place to make sure they price something correctly and how many people would have clicked on it at £350?

Lol yeah it's great way to drum up business.

Marketing manager: "I've got this great idea guys. Let's do a misprice, then loads of people will visit the site and order it. Then when they've gone to all that hassle, let's cancel all the orders, and people can then spend five days checking for their refunds. I think that's sure to get people using us more often! What do you reckon guys!"

You do realise that the stock system is a bit more complex than some old bloke in a flat cap ticking off orders with a pencil?
If a certain product starts selling at a crazy rate the "computer" (welcome to the future) will flag a warning long before anyone contacts customer services!

99.9% chance it won't work, still ordered 2 just incase, no harm as it's on a 0% credit card. BUT WHY DO PEOPLE LIVE CHAT/PHONE ARGOS, all this does is alert you you absolute morons!

!!!!PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING!!! - YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR XBOX!

Just called Argos and they gave me some info:

All payments taken, whether confirmed with an order number or not, are in a "pending" state and will be bounced back to your credit/debit cards within 72 hours.

Anyone who got a confirmation, sorry, you won't be getting your XBOX. They will not be honouring the sales.
They are not legally obliged to complete any order, their T's & C's allow them to cancel orders arising from technical errors.

(I called them because they took payment twice, despite telling me the order couldn't be completed)

    Are you for Real?!?!
You knowingly spent £89.99 on an item which wasn't even in stock, as it was a Pre Order, hopefully you realised that it wasn't even due to be released until NEXT MONTH. Yet now are moaning about having to wait for you pending transaction to go back on your card when you knew from vast comments it was never going to happen anyway.

You do realise most retailers bar 2 take money upfront for all preorders, should be glad that they don't make you wait until October and cancel, you would knowingly be 3 weeks without your £89.99
