It is a physical copy for Torna - The Golden Country but inside the box contains a code for the Expansion Pass which requires the main game to be used.
You don’t need xenoblade chronicles 2 to play it as its stand alone. Its also not included in this pack. (edited)
it say this on the description "Please Note: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is not included but is required to play."
There we are, much better than my explanation!
Question though: if the physical edition contains a code...is that code the full expansion, or expansion less Torna?
If it's the full, then this should get super hot.
It should give us everything apart from Torna as we would already have it as physical.
Legend. Totally get it now.

My bad on that one, i watched a video with the developers the other day and they made it sound as if the game was stand alone, as they were on about playing it before the main game.
Standalone for Torna only, but the original game is required for the DLC and expansion content in the main game.
It's meant to basically be Torna standalone, with DLC code for the main game...or am I mistaken?
God they've made this confusing!
If you buy the season pass, it is included. But it's set before the main game and is meant to be standalone.
how weird but that makes sense now thanks
My guess is that the code in the box will be for all the season pass content, less Torna. Else you get two copies of Torna for £29.85!
Absolutely what I would have expected too, but some Redditors (hardly reliable as a sole source) weren't convinced there would be differing codes. I still believe that this will be the case, else it would be a glaring oversight!
