    I have the smart version of this (just has a hub included) - I like I can see the status of the alarm and activate remotely eg on holiday, but if you've only got 50 quid to spare it really is a great bit of kit just for piece of mind when you're away. Can always chuck the external siren down the back of the sofa.

    I don't fancy climbing up two storeys to put new batteries in the siren every 12 months. Why can't the alarm manufacturers do a hybrid system that has internal wireless sensors etc that need batteries but with a hardwired external siren?
