Acorn Stairlift

My friend has had an Acorn Stairlift fitted but when she dismounts she has to press a button and watch and wait whilst it goes back to charging station (I know she could get a chair but space is limited) is there an alternative way to do this as she is not steady on her legs I.e app on phone or something?
