Application for Low income tarrif with Affinity water rejected

Hi, I applied for the low income tariff with Affinity Water.

I presented all the supporting documents and they basically just rejected me with no explanation given. I know I'm eligible. When I enquired they didn't engage in discussion but just issued me a full bill. Surely, they have a legal obligation to respect my application? What should I say?

Ask CAB to assist. However, they are a private company, and just because they operate a scheme, and perhaps even advertised it to you, would not obligate them to put you on it.
Decisions are made elsewhere, and I doubt the front line call staff could access the information

as someone had said, it would be a discretionary scheme so they make their own rules. guess they think your income is not low enough to qualify for the discount. you could try to make a complaint to them to ask for the reason why you did not qualify.

Maybe they saw your username on HUKD and thought you've clearly got enough money.............
