Octopus energy. Advice and help please

We were on shell energy and now been transferred to Octopus.
There’s 2 adults and a toddler at home.
We try to save on gas and electric costs and are mindful of what we are using.
I have no idea what to look out in terms of tariffs. Not that great at maths either.
At the moment we are on the below.

My question is can we get any cheaper rates? Is this the best option for us? Is there anyone who explains this sort of stuff in simple terms?
We pay monthly. Our most recent bill for both gas and electric was £151 in feb and £120 in jan

We're in the same boat and after reading this thread it reminded me to look at Octopus Tracker.

I applied earlier today and just received an email saying my application has been accepted and will be effective as of tomorrow.

Knowing my bloody luck prices will rocket now but hoping I finally see normal prices after years of being ripped off.

Do you have a a smart metre?

If you don't have a smart meter, get one. Get on Octopus tracker. Only those with money to waste do otherwise.

    I will look into it.
I know a lot of people who say don’t get a smart metre but I’m not really sure why there against it

I fixed with them last month, they made a mistake.
They changed the prices but forgot to change the standing charge.
They have corrected it twice since.
Go to the home page, scroll down and look for change tariff to see your options.
More options if you have smart meters.

Edf Just launched a 1 year fix at better rates than that (I still wont take that as octopus tracker is much cheaper - 3.9p gas, 18p electricity over the last 14 months for me)

    EDF 1 year fix

    • 5.62p per kilowatt hour (p/kWh) for gas
    • 23.74p/kWh for electricity
    • A standing charge of 32.04p per day for gas
    • A standing charge of 40.78p per day for electricity

I'm on a tracker for gas which has saved me a fortune over the last year. Moved to Intelligent Octopus Go as I have a plug in Hybrid, but used to also be on Tracker for electric.

Standing charges and unit prices are dependant on where you live. Our standing charge is going up on 1st April to 64.97p with Octopus ( 25.42p / unit).

All you can do 2004ns is go on one of the comparison sites to see if anything cheaper is available in your area. No use to you others telling you what they pay as it depends on where you live.

I would also recommend Octopus tracker, the cheapest I could find in the last 1.5 years.

Tracker rate changes daily based on market rate.
