Toilet seat fittings

A few months ago we bought a new toilet seat which is great but the washers and fixtures are garbage. On one side the rubber washers shredded which then caused the fixing above the seat to deform and is getting worse.
Can anyone advise on a new washer set and (preferably rectangular) fixtures. Really need something which is a bit more resilient!
