Hi, the next best price is for the next best price to buy the same item at, Not for the RRP of the item, We do not use RRPs as they are often promote false savings.

For your recent deal, the next best price would have been £31 at morrisons, hence the addition of the NBP Field once going through moderation.

A little tip, this field is optional, so if it is added, you do have the option to remove this via a edit of the deal !

Unfortunately, I discovered it was added a bit late. If it is indeed optional, then perhaps it should be left to the OP?

The community team do review NBP as deals are shared, but if a member has listed an RRP, and it's missed, or has added it back in after it was removed, then please drop us a report message on the thread.

The NBP should be the next best 'offer' price for the same, identical item, not the RRP. If a NBP isn't available, then the field can be left blank.

For freebie deals, members can enter 0.01 in the NBP field and then leave the price field blank and this will trigger the orange 'Free' text

Sorry if I sounded rude or abrupt here with the way that I started this thread by saying "My request", the same goes to anyone else who may be reading this. I sometimes am a bit abrupt without realising.

I had actually wondered how to list freebies on here because it is not clear how to do so on the submission form.

Otherwise, it looks like a comparison with the non sale price and then the %age saving number looks silly if another retailer is just a little bit more expensive. Then people vote Cold on what may actually be a good deal.

I'm finding that when I enter the previous price on my Kindle deals it is routinely deleted. A quick scroll through deals suggests this is the rule rather than the exception.

Checking back over your recent deals, I can see this one has a NBP listed of £5.99 (which I'll remove)

    hotukdeals.com/dea…386

£5.99 is the normal selling price of that Kindle book title checking the price history (since 18/06/2023) and the NBP isn't the saving on normal retail price, it's meant to illustrate the saving on the next best current offer price for the same like for like item. For Kindle books, this typically means leaving NBP blank, as kindle ebooks are not sold on other platforms, so there is no NBP figure.
