Years back me and my mates used to enjoy the odd evening out at TGIs and I'm sure we used to come away feeling pretty stuffed / contented (also helped by the giant cocktails).

Last year we was in Swansea when it was my daughter's birthday and thought TGIs would be a good shout for lunch, maybe my tastes have become more refined over the years but I thought the food was very average and the portions small. Wouldn't get me back to one now even with 20% off. But each to there own

All the big themed restaurants fell off a cliff (most died as a result). They used to give you giant portions of meals you couldn't get anywhere else. Now they have a fairly boring burger selection and apparently didn't get the memo that no one is fooled any more by the gastro-pub method of hiding the tiny amount of chips by using overly elaborate presentation.

Anyone in a moderate sized town probably has a takeaway that'll beat them for price, quality and portions.

When I last went, they stuck us in an absurdly cramped booth, we were largely ignored by the waiters and they got our orders wrong. Not sure I'm ever going to go back by choice.
