I wouldn't set much store by that. I asked the lady at the customer service desk at my local if I can buy fresh yeast in store and was confidently told "No". A few days later, I was at the instore bakery so I decided I'd just ask there and, wouldn't you know it, it's available to buy. Glutton for punishment... I checked at customer service as to whether the store sells a particular ingredient. After about five minutes of scanning his computer, I was told that they didn't stock it but that a larger branch should have it. Fair enough. MInutes later, I stumble across it whilst looking for something entirely different. I've given up asking them anything.
Honestly, having worked in a supermarket for 3 years (Asda), I can tell you for sure that at least Asda customer service do not have any facilities or system to check and tell you whether a particular item is sold instore, or is in stock (but maybe Sainsbury's do? Hmm). They can, however, ask a person who stacks shelves on the department that your item belongs to, to go and have a look. However, if that person looked and didn't find it - it probably isn't there, or is at least out of stock, and if they didn't look and said "no, we don't sell it", it might be a new product which they don't know about/haven't seen yet. Talking about fresh yeast though, bakery department in one of the stores I've worked in used to sell it, but it wasn't advertised and wasn't on the shelves, and if you asked any colleague from any other department, they'd tell you we didn't sell it, cause they'd never seen it and never been told about it. Maybe it works different in other supermarkets though lol... (edited)
Sainsbury’s have handsets in which contains stock counts within e.g if you scan an item it’ll tell you how many cases of the product the store has and how many items in a case as well as how many units they’ve sold each day, where they are instore and the days in which they are expected on delivery (edited)

Your fame as The Eager Ferrero Man has started. Remember me.
You can imagine that at this price people are buy 10-15 at a time at the very least, i know id probably buy 30 if not more
They also have a main computer in which allows you to type what you are looking for as an alternative to scanning a code
