About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
With Smash on the way, I expect a lot of people will want to find this as cheap as possible!
I spotted this last night that Base had lowered their price down massively. And obviously there will be better deals in the future but this is a good starting block for getting Smash Bros on the cheap.
If anyone does find it cheaper I will be interested to know

sorted byBetter deals always come along. Ones this early are pointless. I got Odyssey for 29.99. Just gotta keep an eye out for the good ones and look near the launch of the game, not what could possibly be 8 months away.
In my case, I would consider buying when it will be a release date.
I THINK Nintendo will set a release date on E3 and it will be between end of october, like Super Mario Odissey, or Xmas. So still too long for me.
GAME - £59.99
365Games - £44.99
SimplyGames - £42.85
365Games sent out a £5 voucher a few days ago you’d save a couple of pennies and bring it down to £39.99, but otherwise Base is the cheapest option available at the moment. (edited)
So a bad price then? the general consesus is that it's a Capcom style "ultra" update of the Wii U game. Some new characters and levels, balance changes, but same game at core.
No I'm not sure why it matters either. As you mentioned it is an interative fighting game. Let's fix up the balance, add new content and off we go. No need to reinvent the wheel
Hopefully a better deal comes along though
But I'm somewhat doubtful, being a first party Nintendo title

Thanks
The general consensus definitely seems to be that it's a new game, but I'm not convinced by any of the "evidence". I get the feeling some people are really grasping at straws to convince themselves it isn't just a port. But the fact they didn't show any gameplay footage like they have for other ports like Mario Kart and Hyrule Warriors, etc, is something.
The smash games have always been highly anticipated so the pricing is going to be the standard or slightly-above-standard price. If I had to guess I couldn’t imagine a deal going for less than £35.
It's possible I suppose, but I think deep down everyone knows. "THE LOGO IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, IT'S A BRAND NEW GAME!!" isn't fooling anyone.
I'm not really sure why it matters at all TBH, it's an iterative fighting game. How different is Street Fighter 5 from Street fighter 2 really? How different would you want it to be??
The U game was announced in 2011, it came out at the end of 2014. that time-frame alone strongly suggests they've not built this Switch game "ground up" particularly as we're getting it at the end of the year.
It doesn't matter because the Nintendo Switch is not locked to a specific region, but it's most likely going to be EU because Base.com is based in the UK (edited)
Thank you
