(Easy > easy + > really difficult > easy). Didn't scale well for me but managed to beat the boss with a little luck on crits and different skilled used by the bosses.
There's no world map fights, and each zone had a handful of creatures so you would need to leave the zone to refresh them.
It's a fairly forgettable game with ideas taken from everywhere else.
For under £20 it's worth it but it's not highly recommended. (edited)
Don't
You clearly haven't even bothered with the comments on this thread, so your "everything I've read" is probably OK Magazine.
Edit: just watched the video and answered my own question. What's the battle mechanic like? (edited)
The battle system isn't bad. There's a few cool features which don't get explained well till around 10 hours or so in.
I like the game but feel the story is a tad weak and steals it's ideas from Golden sun (the light houses).
But the game for under £20 is a great buy. I've not played it in about a week sadly but I do enjoy the game.
For battle, the movement is a little under whelming so far. Only had a few fights where positioning is key to avoid grouped attacks.
One design I dislike is there hasn't been any battles on the world map. Only in smaller areas and mobs don't respawn unless you leave the area and return (bring back random pop up battles!).
fair enough, looks like no one really loved it and if you really want this type of game "I am setsuna" is better (although still not a great game) I do like this style of game but think its worth waiting for octopath reviews before choosing one.
