Previously known as Tesco Value(rebranded most of that range)
65p ready meal it must be delicious
And lived to tell the tail
That explains the shortage of horses.....
Yes, the toad in the hole is very good and the lasagne is nice. Heat given, they were 79p not long ago so it's fantastic value.
It’s not always a choice, people can make, sadly a lot of people are on a tight budget these days, don’t have or unable to cook from scratch so it’s a quick and cheap hot meal
The surprising bit is when you find it
I read about that, Tesco have put there value range into new packaging and have made up company names to hide the fact it's their value range.
It`s all about making the customer believe they are buying a good product(farm this and hearty that) rather than the bog standard Value brand(which was perfectly okay).
My son loves the pizzas
To copy Aldi and Lidls this does looks better, l would expect more people to buy and try these, a lot of shoppers wont have a clue these are value rebranded, a very clever mind trick by tesco. Tesco Adverts in the press seem to be copying Lidl, as long as no more annoying TV ads with that annoying families mundane tittle tattle at the till..!! Give me strength..
Hmmm ok.
Try Donald Russell for very very good.
All supermarket frozen ready meals are extremely poor compared.
Chicken Breast (11%)
Chilli con carne is nice, as is the Liver Bacon & Mash. At this price (a chocolate bar will cost yer 60p+) yer may as well try em out.
Absolutely but it'll cost you a lot more than 65p a cover, unless you was cooking for a lot. The more you cook for the cheaper it is.
Chilli con carne cooked from scratch? ABsolutely, and I feel the same way about spaghetti bolognese (my favourite) and TBH I wouldn't try the "Hearty" Spaghetti...unless I had no other option.
My elderly neighbour is expecting a (free) delivery from Tesco today (free trial courtesy of HUKD ) and she is testing these Hearty food company meals in place of her Oakhouse ready meals, delivered weekly....at 4 times the price YES yes yes, the quality will be different, but 4 times worth different? I think not.
EXAMPLE...Oakhouse ready meals
Mini Spaghetti Bolognese A rich Bolognese made with minced beef, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms in a tomato and red wine sauce, seasoned with basil, garlic and oregano. Served with spaghetti. code: 466Weight: 240g @ £2.65
OR
TESCO
Hearty Food Co. Spaghetti Bolognese 400G @ £ 0.65
SO
240g @ £2.65 v 400G @ £ 0.65
Some will knock this "Brand" (even if just because it's Tesco) but to many? it's this or nothing.
Totally agree, and is why I posted, a lot of carers come in to clients and have such a short time to do any cooking too
Yes, not enough hours in a day methinks, shame.
I had the chicken curry yesterday, VERY nice. Oh yes, I consider it my CIVIC duty to test this brand NO, IT'S OK...no need to thank me, it's MY pleasure Oops, was that the Microwave? YEP, GOTTA GO
But anyone else tried the others??
Had a pepperoni one last week and for the price not bad
Some people must have very poor taste buds as it was just watery bland pasta with very little cheese or meat. OK for a lunchtime snack if you're desperate.
Its the new Lidl/Aldi model.
LOVED the everyday value (tinned) Chilli con carne, and would prefer it (as no rice) to this, but that's not an option, so this is the next best thing
