Buy one on this offer and take it back on your old receipt
lots of options in stock at Tesco Extra Dudley.
I had to ask for Luigi’s Mansion then faced a nervous wait at the till.
My point still stands, you could and should have been happy with this great deal from Tesco but instead of being happy with that you went to the effort of trading in a copy to save yourself £5.
There's people giving up their free time to offer advice about stock levels and rather than giving others a chance to get the game, your greed got the better of you.
Enjoy the game and your £5. I hope there's no other families missing out because of people like you.
To be fair, stockpiling credit at GAME is hardly putting food on the table. It’s difficult to portray any sort of compassion/empathy for this type of behaviour.
It appears the general trend here is the staff are clueless and just don't care to check for their customers, which is typical for large format.
I have mentioned the TPN further up for Luigi Mansion. Give them this and they will see they all do have stock. Every store got them delivered around Tuesday ready for launch.
Good luck.
It isn’t on the two for 60 offer officially. The staff manually reduced it down cause they thought it was
what I don’t like about this thread, people buying two copies of games. Selling one to CEX so just they get a copy slightly cheaper. This is minimising the people who can benefit from this deal. (edited)
It's a Saturday night, you've resorted to a quote from the Bible, to argue with someone you've never met, about something that doesn't really matter. Maybe time to take a step back and ask why. (edited)
This is the TPN number 087355720 and that brings up 16 currently in stock for that store. If they say they can't find it then they are simply not looking or just don't care. My local store did the same thing today until I refused to budge cause I have proof it was in stock. 10 minutes later they "found" it once I asked for the store manager.
That's pretty pathetic just to save £5, why not let others have a chance. Really sad.
It isn't though is it. It's effectively getting 1 copy of LM3 for £25, which equals a £20 saving over Tesco's £45 price, or a £15 saving over the ~£40 price elsewhere (online)
This guy gets it. The whole site promotes sharing deals with others. In theory one person could go to each store and buy 20 copies to sell to CEX. Those that say there’s nothing wrong with that aren’t technically wrong mind. It’s just a pretty thoughtless way to behave (imo).
To then get ripped off by GAME. Hardly worth the effort. Some folk will do anything for a few pounds
So like the luigi mansion fiasco, if they claim they can't find it, give them this number. All stores get the game delivered today. (edited)
Went to get two copies of LM3 for family members, took two dummy boxes to the checkout and was again told they didn't actually have them. A manager happened to be passing and immediately said 'we can give you a voucher for those'.
Two minutes later I had a Special Offer Promise Voucher for two LM3s for £60. No expiry date, I can go back whenever they have stock (so after the offer ends) and collect two copies for £60 regardless of the sticker price.
Worth knowing for future reference, very little mention of it online but all 3 staff on the CS desk immediately knew what the manager was talking about.
Also, HUKD a bit quick on the expiry for this? It's live till midnight. (edited)
Exactly this, LM3 was nowhere to be seen and I asked specifically for it and they come out of the back with it. Just a reminder to everyone in my local these offers weren't active on these games 8am this morning. That may of changed now
Yes I can as I have all the barcodes for the games but I'm at work this evening so lacking time to check them all. Sorry, if I have time later maybe. What store you want checking?
The local store couldn't find it, and after I was adament that I knew they had some, it forced them to eventually find the stock...
Then they weren't even sure if it was released today or tomorrow!? So that was another lengthy "discussion" with them. Not to mention they still had all the old promotion labels out on their gaming department.
Really shocking.
Yeah! They wasn’t on the actual 2 for stand so my partner grabbed them off the promo stand and asked a staff member to check. And they scanned through
just picked up Zelda... Mario Maker 2 and 2 copies of Luigi’s from Camberley... went into town and sold one of the Luigi’s at CEX for £35.00 cash... so got the other three for £28.33 each...
not bad at all...
So what about the parent that needs 2 copies but there’s only 1 left in stock now because the other is in CEX for £45?
It's not by £5. Full price in store is £45, after trading a copy into cex the cost is £25. My maths says that is £20 off the full price.
Again how do you suggest this person gets a copy of luigi's mansion 3 for £25? Sensible answer or move on please.
I know right, why would anyone buy two copies of LM3 for £60 when you can just buy 1 for £45....
What I don't get is all the toxic people who haven't been able to benefit from this deal.
It was unfortate you weren't able to get X game from this deal, but bare this in mind. It is a supermarket. They don't deal exclusively in games, all stores will have limited stock. Over the years I have been fortunate to benefit from deals from here. But there has been a lot I haven't. I'm sure the people people didn't get the games they were after today, have been able to benefit from other deals in the past where I have not.
Some days its your turn, unfortunately today wasn't it.
Black Friday is coming though so maybe there will be similar offers at other retailers. (edited)
You’re the one that keeps going on and on
That's very true actually.
It’s almost like they’ve sold well because they’re on offer.
