It puts the lackluster steam sales to shame. Hopefully the competition will push Valve and the rest to be more aggressive with their prices and sales.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey for £9.99 is a steal, such a good game and tons of content.

Still a garbage site when compared with steam, but more power to those who want to use it.

Ill just buy the games on steam after they've been beta tested on the epic store.

According to what I’ve read on reddit, once you buy an Ubisoft game on Epic it automatically activates the game in Uplay. Following that the Epic client isn’t needed and the game can be launched directly from Uplay. (edited)

Personally even giving away free money I'm not buying into Epic, I can wait for games as I've already got loads and I have too many accounts for different platforms as it is. Epic also lost me the minute they went the exclusive route, I don't like that at all and it's not good for the PC market so I'm not supporting that as I would happily pay extra to get Steam games instead to make up for the difference in margin for the developer.

But developers get more money from Epic so you're hurting them, and yourself.

I don't really see why exclusives are a bad thing, more competition is good for the consumer

If you buy Ubisoft games from the Epic store, does it add them to your Uplay account (i.e. can you uninstall the epic launcher and just run them from Uplay)?

Yeah it will add the game to your UPlay and you'll never have to use Epic to run the game. I did this with Division 2 in the last sale.

Exclusives are anticompetitive practice, they attempt to close a market to reduce long term competition. There are now 4-5 marketplaces and only two of them are open.

Also I don't owe them anything, if they don't want to engage the market fully then I'm happy not to support them. And as I said I'm more than happy to pay for the convenience of the platform I want.
