I dunno, talking to a brick wall wouldn't frustrate me in quite the same way
Oof. I was just naming a random TV show that popped in to my head. Like we've been saying "Your own content". Obviously if you want to just watch stuff that's on BBC iPlayer for example there's no point in buying a Plex Pass.
I think you're confused as to what Plex is. Essentially, it's a media centre for your media files. So let's say you have some films, tv shows and music files on your computer that you've ripped from disc or downloaded. You install the Plex server on your PC and download the Plex app for your TV, mobile, other PCs, tablets etc. You can then browse your media collection with the Plex UI (like having your own personal Netflix).
As long as the plex media server is running on the device your media is on, you'll be able to connect to it and watch your content from a device in the same room to a device on the other side of the planet.
Plex Pass offers more features such as downloads to those devices rather than streaming, amongst other things, but the core functionality is free. Here's a list of what paying for Plex Pass gets you. support.plex.tv/art…iew (edited)
Available for everyone.
It's just your own content mostly. Quite clever for watching your films/music from your server at someone else's house or on your commute... Might feel a bit not worth it, but once you've paid out and forgotten about it you'll be glad you did it. It's a very above board system so none of the Kodi add one are available or IPTV.
No one likes a smart Alec
Having a Plex pass has several advantages, the most useful (for me) is plexamp which can stream my own music to my phone or car.
Thanks to Op - @AggyMarmite . Worked fine.
@gaz_anthony - it's whatever digital content you have at home (mobile/tablet photo's, videos, music, ripped movies) and any additional content you download from the net... (edited)
You can actually run a program that can parse IPTV Streams to act as a HDHomeRun TV Tuner which can then be added to plex.

I couldn’t face explaining changing accounts to my dad, aunt and sister... O.O

Never mind, it’s wanting to charge me £366.66 in pounds when I use revolut
Are you just trolling or something? @Howz.That said "Your own content. Movies, TV Shows, Music". Are you asking if your own content collection is decent? My head is hurting.
I tried that but stupidly Plex was trying to debit £366.66 GBP from my Revolut card and as I don’t have that balance the transaction didn’t go through.
Afterwards when I looked through the currencies offered by Revolut, I couldn’t even see Brazil $ listed!
You didn't do enough research then
Thanks for this tip. Managed to get it working today. Very impressive. Have it running on a Synology NAS in a Docker container. I love the fact I can now use Plex to record and playback my IPTV. I'd never heard of this until I read your post. Thanks again!
